mcfadden has his abilities, he can shoot with power, actually shoot from outside the box, which noone aside from carsley, arteta and himself can do, even most of johnson's longer range goals (which are few to begin with) come from placement and timing rather than power in a crowded situation.
people seem to ignore the times he's been unlucky, if the balls he played at against reading and manchester united (the first time) had been altered by inches they woulda gone in off the posts and he'd be a hero, and all you moaners would need to find a new scapegoat.
many teams are satisfied with the player who shoots for the stars every time and comes up big once in a ways. look at alonso for christ sake (not that they're very comparable players, but most shots i've seen him take are pure [Poor language removed] save for the rare few that end up in the back of the net)
my advice for him would be keep him for most of the transfer window, if all our other strikers stay healthy loan him out outside the league and try not to include a buyout clause. if vaughan or AJ go down to injury (like they often do), keep him and play a 4 1 2 1 2 (back 4, carsley, wingers of your choice, cahill, mcfadden and another striker) its really offensive with the way cahill plays, but moyes has already shown he doesn't mind goin for it so why the [Poor language removed] not.
also, faddy seems to make a much bigger impact off the bench, but he needs time to do so. i think moyes should put him in around the 55-60 minute mark, or hell maybe even at halftime so he can work some magic if necessary without tiring himself out early on.
