Couldn't disagree any more Zero.

Watch the Boro game, throughout hes looking to assist and plays a few very good balls, often going looking all over the pitch for the ball.

he's a one game in five(1 good game in 5) he's just not good enough. If we want to progress in the league in seasons to come. He is defo one to go...

English football might not suit his ablilities. Maybe if he played in Spain or Germany where players would have more time on the ball he could be a star. We don't get Scottish nat. team matches here in the states but maybe thats why he plays so well for them??

mcfadden has his abilities, he can shoot with power, actually shoot from outside the box, which noone aside from carsley, arteta and himself can do, even most of johnson's longer range goals (which are few to begin with) come from placement and timing rather than power in a crowded situation.

people seem to ignore the times he's been unlucky, if the balls he played at against reading and manchester united (the first time) had been altered by inches they woulda gone in off the posts and he'd be a hero, and all you moaners would need to find a new scapegoat.

many teams are satisfied with the player who shoots for the stars every time and comes up big once in a ways. look at alonso for christ sake (not that they're very comparable players, but most shots i've seen him take are pure [Poor language removed] save for the rare few that end up in the back of the net)

my advice for him would be keep him for most of the transfer window, if all our other strikers stay healthy loan him out outside the league and try not to include a buyout clause. if vaughan or AJ go down to injury (like they often do), keep him and play a 4 1 2 1 2 (back 4, carsley, wingers of your choice, cahill, mcfadden and another striker) its really offensive with the way cahill plays, but moyes has already shown he doesn't mind goin for it so why the [Poor language removed] not.

also, faddy seems to make a much bigger impact off the bench, but he needs time to do so. i think moyes should put him in around the 55-60 minute mark, or hell maybe even at halftime so he can work some magic if necessary without tiring himself out early on.

Osman has scored from outside the box!!! Lets be honest McF is not going to get any better, always seems to me to going round with a chip on his shoulder.

Yes has scored on the face of it some spectacular goals but in reality goals from distance carry an awful amount of luck with them. Basically inconsistent and we cannot afford that.

true there is a lot of luck to do with it, the kinda luck players like alonso are counted on for (wish i could think of better examples of highly rated speculative shooters, but my memory eludes me). osman scores from distance, which i've personally believed that he'd make a great striker (not right now, as we obviously need midfielders and have too many strikers), but the thing is we don't have great strikers that shoot from distance.

when its jus yak or aj or some variation thereof in there, defenders can straight boxplay it, close down the openings and match us for head height, which is why so many of our goals come from crosses. when faddy's in, people know he can score from distance, so they close down those shots, which opens up holes. and when they don't close it down, he sends it in, usually gets it on target, and even when he doesn't score sets us up for good followup play.

aj and vaughan are very similar strikers in terms of playing style. yak is extraordinary for cleanup play inside the box, i think faddy is still a crucial ingredient particularly when the midfield is lacking creativity.
