Peak performance? Surely football is about guts and guille, ambition and desire. Players should want to pull on the shirt twice a week and love doing it.

I know there is a science behind it all, but I just don't buy this too many matches bollocks. Surely the more games you play, the better chance of improving.

the way i see it is...
in the eighties the same 11/15 players would usually get you through the whole season, and they would play more games than they do now, 40 games a season etc.

But everyone was in the same boat.

I agree with bruce, about peak performance.
Now there is a divide where the bigger teams have 24+ first team standard players in their squad and using rotation, has the set the standard higher with regards to maintaining peak performance over the season.
These teams have gained that advantage through financial resources.
Nowadays a team that has to rely on the same 11-15 players throughout a season generally struggle through injuries and suspensions if not fatigue.
So the number of games you play in relation to your squad strength can't be ignored.

we are slowly arriving at to that level i believe, but we are not there yet.

I agree about guts and guile etc but to stretch a point, you take two teams with equal guile guts ambition and desire one in peak performance, one who is knackered, who would win?

Well I don't think 10 extra games a season is going to knacker anyone out. Its like Benitez kicking off about his players having 7 hours less rest than his rivals. Its crap.

yeah but even if your right about the fitness, injuries and suspensions still take their toll.

I know its part of football, and you cant really use it as a reason for not wanting to progress in a cup, its still consolation when youve just gone out of one.
maybe it is crap, but i'm still consoled by it so:P

Well even so. The team we put out should have and would have beaten BadMeat if it wasn't for that pesky post and [Poor language removed] scot.

who didnt see a set of bad results coming?

carling cup? what a joke.

squad, especially midfield cant cope with a few out.

disjointed today, and the sooner someone snipers rennie the better, apart from a lush 3 minutes added on he gave us nothing. how many times did hughes have to sumo jags? disgusting. matched only by some players.

Thank you Suits for some honesty, I am beginning to think there are one or two Morons around who write of the FA Cup as I was not bothered anyway, bollocks. Okay we are in the semi for the carling cup, you say big deal on that and into the knockout stages of the UEFA, but we are only as far as the next game in each at the moment in case you have not noticed. To chuck away the FA Cup by underestimating Oldham was just plain stupid.

If Moyes was not that arsed why not give the likes of Rodwell a crack instead of baldy Grav.

I said I wasnt arsed, no-one said moyes wasnt arsed.
where did you get that from?

if we had won yesterday, that wouldnt have been a big deal either, because we would be only in it as far the next game too.

It was a bad performance, it was a cup upset, end of story.
I'm not getting into a state of constipated apoplexy over it!

.....what can you do about it?

.....its gone, all thats left to do is complain?

.....and who carries the can?

Moyes??

so does anyone want moyes out, because of yesterdays result?

complaining about it = waste of energy!

Well now the dust has settled on yesterday..........yes it was shiite,an yes some ov the performances were pretty dire. I admit i was well pist off aswell, but once again i paid my money an i expect a little better than what i got.

now its early morning an now im thinking....so what, in the list of what was important this season at the moment. The fa cup was last. Not going to let it get me down as we'v had a great season so far an hopfully there's more to come.

If anything that came out of the game that was good, Its at lease moyes now knows that some of these players are just not up for it(if he did'nt already)

Please get rid of graveson he is the shittist player iv seen for a while....:D

Your right bruce, but they were up for the european game. why not yesterday? They did'nt seem intrested.

As you know if they really give it a go, but dont play well you dont mind as much. But yesterday they just seemed like they wer'nt botherd.
