Now as I understand it, pompey are taking their case to uefa or whoever to get the green light for them to be allowed in the Europa cup next season, I realise it is a long shot, but good luck to them as if they are allowed, they will displace the side that finished seventh in the League this season.
Hopes and prayers people.

Wouldn't be too disappointed at that, but could you see the FA or UEFA putting their nose out of place to accommodate Portsmouth?

From what i understand uefa have said they can enter the europa cup next season, it's the fa & the premier league that have said no.

It's gonna be about 17-0 to Chelsea though.

And I've had enough of Pompey bending and breaking rules.

And I live in Southampton!

Na. The way I understand it, is Pompey didn't apply to UEFA in time for the deadline because: (1) they didn't think it would matter and (2) there's a rule that clubs in deep financial bother can't be given a permit.

Once they reached the final they announced that they were going to ask if they could get a licence anyway despite being in administration and having missed the deadline. All the FA and the Premier league said was that they wouldn't support that appeal for fairly obvious reasons really.

So it's still up to UEFA.

Funny as it would be if they did get it, I still can't see it happening mind.

I think in 1975 Derby Co. wasn't allowed to participate in the European Cup becasue of financial irreguralitites. So its not unpresidented. If they get an owner who pays off all their books by middle of June I would have no problem with it.
