in the previous era Mercedes were absolutely dominant around this circuit. It seems to suit their design philosophy, so if they can't go well here and show measurable improvement then they may as well completely go back to the drawing board.
Looking good so far. 2nd and 3rd in FP2. Porpoising seems to have been pretty much eliminated

Rumor has it Aston Martin banned/suspended for plagiarism. They copied the Red-Bull car? Anyone clarify?

Haven’t seen those rumours myself and I’d be surprised if anything was solved that quickly. It does look very similar to the RB but this isn’t the first time this sort of thing has happened.

RB's protest is... ludicrous. It's in the very the nature of F1 that good ideas are copied and implemented by everyone else.
Just another example of what utter shysters run that team.

It's not that simple, what they have copied could not have been created purely from looking at another teams cars (as Aston Martin claim), especially as one part has only been on the Red Bull for about a month. They believe that mechanics that Aston Martin signed from them have handed over critical information from Red Bulls IP... which is illegal and beyond 'copying another teams idea'.

Could just be BS but not sure why they would be this annoyed unless they genuinely feel something dodgy has happened, its not like Aston Martin are a threat to them.

That is of course possible, but its also a fairly serious accusation. Horner has casually starting talking about IP infringement to give credence to his BS... even if he has his reasons for suspecting as such, he really shouldn't air it in public unless he's prepared to back it up. AM could otherwise counter with claims of defamation

Love Toto but Manisha was my favourite.

Good lap from Russell, but the performance seems to come and go. Hamilton’s hasn’t managed to find the sweet spot yet.
