I think it is, even if they appealed, what happens to change it? They cant just hand Lewis the win because for all we know Verstappen could have blue flagged everyone and caught up anyway.

I would have no idea how to settle it if the appeal was won.

True, annulled race? Changes nothing. Only thing I can think of is revert to as it was on the lap before safety car went in but that too may not be legal. Either this was a farce, that decision to let certain cars past is a stain that's maybe impossible to remove. Weird decision to make.

Doubt it though. He was quicker than Max at the start and Max was supposed to be on faster tyres. Lewis is still the best all round driver.

If Hamilton retires, next season will be very dull as Max is streets ahead of the rest.

I think the FIA will not allow any chance because of this... quite simply, what would they do? In reality, it should revert to the position during the SC.

You right that you can't penalise Verstappen, but Mercedes will surely be legally challenging the decision as the rules have been applied to their disadvantage.

Masi won't be in the position next year.
