I went off line to go to the bank ,parked outside was in and out in less than 5 minutes and in that time some low life smashed into my wing mirror smashing the glass do they stop or leave a note no chance so now I have two choices run around trying to get one from a scrap yard or going to the dealers which cost a bomb last time i got one from the dealers 5years ago for a different Renault it cost £75 so god knows how much this will cost and I'm going to have to drive a round trip of 5oo miles with no mirror and I'm [Poor language removed] parking with it. there feel better rant over
 

Make do until August then let your son in law deal with the problem.By the sounds of things it must have been a van / lorry/ bus that did the damage and not some smackhead pedestrian.

Bill here in old swan they would not pinch a bike :owell not in less they had a buyer lined up:lol:.Vim I thought of that but my reverse parking is [Poor language removed] with the mirror so without it:blink: I have had to park the car front in first in the drive way the problem with that is the mobility scooters can be seen by any one passing and the thieves round here will take any thing.

used to be a french car breaker near me , will look into if he's still there for you.
.........are you sure it wasn't you looking into it that did the damage ?

I am going to defend lorry drivers here. It was probably not a lorry driver as they would have taken the whole wing off. It was probably hit by another cars wing mirror. Car drivers are bastards.
 
Believe me Gaz, i'm a lorry driver by trade and i've killed my fair share of car wing mirrors in my time, though on this occasion i'm completely innocent.
 
There are some terrible drivers around these days.

People don't care anymore, as long as they don't get anything done to them.

My old car had a massive dent and slash through it because of someone twatting it and then buggering off. It was absolutely huge.

Same here mate. I don't believe wing mirrors actually exist. They are objects made up by car drivers to give truckers a headache.

Joking aside though. it was probably a chelsea tank. The school runs encompassing a 7 seater 35k supposedly off road car with an uptight housewife and an overweight kid as it's sole occupants. Make the kid walk to school I say.
 
I'd be curious as to how many "mishaps" A2B Chris has gotten in during his driving career. Occupational hazard.
 

My dads car was smashed into quite bad the other month while parked outside, wrote off like.

Terrible the way they dont stop really but ah well, thats the world aint it. Luckily no little scumbag has smashed my car yet.

Until this year, never been involved in an accident in 25 years driving as a courier, driving instructor and taxi driver.

Then 3 in 6 weeks!

1st one my fault (reversed into someones rear end)

2nd one, parked up and a bus side swipped me

3rd one, in a queue of traffic some stupid [Poor language removed] redshite, lazy [Poor language removed] student, decided to save the wear and tear on his brakes and used my arse-end to stop instead

Typical, they cant drive. Theres a green car outside mine now thats parked about 10 yards from the curb. Definitely a student driver.

That's how it works isn't it? Nothing and then bad things come in threes.

25 years though with no accidents is a pretty stellar record. Nice.

On a separate note, I remember hearing a story about a guy who hit a parked car while several onlookers were present.

He got out of his car and wrote down a note and put it on the person's windshield then drove off. When the person got back to their newly damaged car, they pulled the note off the windshield and read it.

It said something to the effect of, "Hi, sorry about your car. Gotta leave this note as there are several people watching." Naturally everyone assumed he was leaving contact and insurance information. Heh. :lol:
