Exploiting The Transfer Window - A Hypothetical Situation

Dubai Blue

Player Valuation: £8m
Ok, just a bit of fun, something that came to mind...Imagine the hypothetical scenario -

Some time in January one year
Everton vs RS (EPL game)
RS battling for top spot with City
City send Aguero to Everton on loan
Aguero plays, scores, Everton win
City recall Aguero

Is there anything technically illegal about that?

Not playing against parent club
"Loan" happens in transfer window
Not playing for more than 2 clubs in same season
Not playing in a cup competition

Thoughts?

It's hypothetical FFS. Just wanted to know if that was an actual loophole
If there isn't a rule, and the (div 1) chiefs see the action work against the rs, then there would be a retrosoective rule created relegating us to div 4. Then the rule would be rescinded because the rs wanted to loan someone in the same vein.

Everton that.

City send Aguero to Everton on loan
Aguero gets injured, Everton lose
City leave Aguero on Everton's books to recover
Aguero returns next year and scores hat trick against Everton to obtain solace for his nightmare stint at Everton

Fixed it for you

Or they bring back Collina for all future derbies

Reminded me of when we got Westervelt on an emergency loan. I know that it's a special case cos I think it was outside of the Window and we had basically no first team keepers. But based on that you could imagine a scenario where it could be exploited to benefit a team.

Even then.... I don't see that as an emergency. Plenty of kids and reservists to step up. The competition in the league should be about squad, not cheque book ability to recruit.

I hurts me to write that, I also hate myself for spelling "color" as such and talking about fuel instead of petrol. Dubai adopted American-isms unfortunately....

Nowt wrong with EPL, colour and if you want to go full on Yank then say gas instead of fuel when talking about petrol:pint2:

Don’t let the pedants ground ya down ;)

And in answer to your question, I think EPL loans are for full seasons or half seasons (the January ones) ergo I don’t think your hypothesis would be legal.

Though I might well be wrong.
