Ray Atteveld years ago looking for and autograph at the end of a game slowed him down getting off the pitch and in the end was told to f*** off

Barmby.

I laugh at Gosling. I also laughed at how well it all ended for that Sean Doherty lad who abandoned us because he thought he could do better at Fulham.

Neville used to drive me to despair for much of the time he played for us, but I don't dislike the fella.

Arteta is a snidey tit, but I loved him when he was our snidey tit.

....I think Sean has done ok for himself, players agent I understand. Lets not forget if it wasn't for Sean Doherty we wouldn't have Seamus Coleman. Sean's dad, Mick, was a scout and went over to watch Sean playing for Sligo and noticed Seamus. The rest is £60k worth of history.

I certainly wasn't very impressed with Adrian Heath when he scored the winner for Man City against us at Maine Road and then flicked the v's to the Everton fans.

I didn't know that. I thought the old fella had to leave Everton immediately after his son left for greener grass?

....Mick was a really good player himself by the way. There was a fall out after Sean left but Mick's reputation grew with the Coleman deal and Chelsea offered him a lucrative deal to scout for them. Apparently the first player Doherty recommended to Chelsea was a young unknown at Everton called Ross Barkley.

Remember watching young Sean as a 10 year old in schoolboy football, outstanding youngster who couldn't quite make that step up. We have got him to thank for Seamus, though, so don't dislike him too much.

I was told in January this year that Sean Doherty now works at Finch Farm as one of our video analysts

Got Phil Neville written all over this thread

Him, Abel Xavier and Barmby from the relatively recent past.

But all time dislike is Tommy Jackson....a man who played in the Holy Trinity Title winning side.

I met him at a black tie function in Belfast's Europa Hotel one time and was thrilled to be speaking to him.

Obviously I wanted to talk about the Everton years but all he wanted to do was talk about his time with the Mancs.

I told him to bugger off in the end, he was such a bore :(

Remind me how many times did he ask to leave to get a pay rise?

Thats not loyalty matey thats blackmail in footballing terms.

And its Barmby-Neville-Moyes for me

Yep mate good point and I stand corrected on Steve-g-lar. Forgot about his threats to leave. Totally agree with you. The Deludeds will still say he was loyal but as the song goes "we don't care what the.. Say"

This. I played int he same side as Mick when he was getting old and you could see his quality then. As I recall he was furious with David Moyes for selling Sean. I'm saying no more...
