Kind of funny. I just realized last month that I've been paying for this service the past 7 months (shows how often I look at my bank statement). Now that I've finally canceled my subscription, they're making it free. I didn't go there very often and told them when I canceled that I didn't use the service enough to make it worth the money.

I've subscribed ever since they started it, has been great. Use it for listening to the commentary of live matches then watch the highlights on it as I'm always out on Saturday nights so miss MOTD. (plus MOTD is rubbish)

I'm looking forward to the live coverage of the pre-season friendlies as it's usually faultless, although I hope their not charging a fiver for each game now or something like that

Actually, I thought that I had cancelled mine, when I kept on seeing this £3.99 come out of my account. I really can't remember re-subscribing. I suppose the Kenwrongers will try and find some fault to blame the board, but its a good move, subject to the finer details.

I don't use it that often, and part of that relates to the fact that older games are not on evertonTV. I know why, but its a shame. For what it is, its a first class service which has improved over the years. My other concern is why they can't show longer highlights like Sky who do 50 minutes, but I suspect that's tied up in PL contracts.

Anyway, lets at least be happy with a good move by Everton.

Everton said this to someone in reply to wanting longer highlights on the website

we could also show the full 90 minutes at midnight but the 20 minute extended highlights gives users a better experience. If there was demand, however, for the full 90 minutes it is something we would be happy to look at adding to the service, However we will continue to provide extended 20 minute highlights of all games at the earliest opportunity based on regulations - midnight on the day of a game in UK and EU and 24 hours later to the Rest of the World. evertontv will also continue to provide free live audio commentary of all competitive first-team games. Premier League broadcast restrictions mean we can't show league games live

It's hard to make this into a negative! It's free Everton content at the end of the day whether there is any motive behind it or not. Fair play to the club on it.

It has given me a headache since I first subscribed to the 'credits system' back in about 2004. I find the video is poor quality even though my Internet connection and computer are both top notch. I only use it for the radio commentary which to be honest takes me back to when I was ten and falling in love with Everton with Gary Stevens, Kevin Sheedy and the rest.

It will save me 40 quid a year now it is free which I was happy to pay despite all the problems I've had down the years with it. Nice one Everton, I promise to spend that 40 quid in the club online shop instead!
