Everton's record in penalty shoot-outs

Last nights penalties were generally well taken. Naismiths was poor, Joel was unlucky and Stones got lucky with his but other than that they all slotted them away nicely.

Didnt fancy Lukaku with his but his was best of the lot.

Does anyone know what it is? I have a feeling that it's pretty abysmal (whereas the RS have an irritatingly good one) but this may be me looking at it from (whatever the opposite is of) rose tinted glasses.

PS what is the opposite of rose tinted glasses?

No idea. But you can be the @judge of that.

I kinda chuckled a bit when Jagielka went to take his penalty, the commentator says 'now comes the time when the players who have never taken a penalty are up'. Umm.....yeah, Jags was the penalty taker for Sheffield United ffs!

We did win the first ever penalty shoot out in football history Vs Munchen Gladbach... I was there... Electric

Mind you we should've seen the game off prior
but we were having one of those after the lord mayors show seasons like this one
nothing ever changes but it remains the same ( some french dude )

i laughed too because he scored the winning penalty to take us to an FA Cup final - quality knowledge on show ha

First one I remember us winning was Newcastle away in the League Cup around 2002-2003. Remember Sunderland and Palace both doing us at home in the League Cup around 1998/1999, followed by Bristol Rovers around 2000.
Didn't Brentford do us a few years back too?

We unfortunately have a losing mentality at this club, it's ingrained. Only once have I seen us with a team of winners on and off the pitch and that was the 80's team. From the players to the fans, from the board to the cleaners, we felt indestructible. 20 years of not winning anything has taken it's toll and it's plucky little Everton at best. At no point did I feel we were going to prevail when it went to pens last night . Another point is my 14yearold lad didn't even bother watching last as he said can't be assed anymore what's the point. 20 YEARS FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!

Well here is one fan who doesn't have a "losing mentality".

I am always optimistic.

From my memory.

I remember

Sunderland 1999, Bristol Rovers 2001, Crystal Palace 2002, Fiorentina, West Ham, Brentford, Boro,

Wins i know of/remember. Monchengladbach, Bristol City 2005, Newcastle 2003, United 2009. Chelsea.

Not good!
