Just caught up with the match on ShoiteTv, Olayiwola just looks better each time I see him, and capable of switching roles mid match , further forward supporting the striker or playing deeper. Fair play to Southern he’s giving him great opportunities to develop.

I think we played two schoolboys in central midfield. Really impressive.

If you're referring to Akarakiri, he's a scholar, despite his public dob suggesting he's a schoolboy
It’s something that’s puzzled me from the moment we signed him and then showed him in “ Meet the Scholars” , dob over two weeks past what I’ve assumed to be the “ normal” cut off date of 1St September. As he came from Arsenal’s u16s, as opposed to u15s, it looks like he’s been playing in the age group above what you’d expect for a while. He certainly looks tall for his age too.

Great first goal. Brilliant ball out wide by Graham and he just glides into the box without anyone tracking him for a lovely 1 yard tap in. Similar to his 4 Spurs goals.
Yeah, lot of similarity with some of his finishes, that forwards instinct to just know where to be, and gambling where less natural forwards would not. Great traits to have if he looks to build a great career in the game.

100% mate. Great strikers sniff out goals from a yard out that look easy, but average strikers never gamble and are always on the back foot.

I don't understand the references to "gamble". What is he risking by moving to where he thinks is his best chance of getting on the end of a pass? I think he keeps demonstrating that he has got a better striker's instinct.

I think he has been playing upfront as well rather than his midfield role while at Everton!

When ive seen him (limited) hes been the central midfielder who is sometimes more advanced and with freedom to attack.

Its football speak;

E.g He 'gambled' with that near post run and the winger put in a perfect cross for him to score.

Meaning, he took a chance that the winger plays the ball to the near post -- rather than anywhere else.

Chance = gamble = football speak.

…exactly what impressed me, he doesn’t stand and admire his pass out wide, he bombs on into the box and takes up that position at the back post (again).

My son showed me another clip of that goal and there’s an extraordinary number of passes leading up to it with no member of the opposition getting a touch.
