Everton Youth Teams Thread

Had a guy in installing Windows 11 to all our computers. Seen my Everton poster on the wall behind my desk. Told me his son plays for us. He said it's Ademide Akarakiri. Had a quick google search and yep, joined our Under 18's from Arsenal. Said that we were really great to his family and he's been to Finch Farm many times and that his boy had the 1st touch at our new stadium. Not incredibly interesting but thought I'd share...

He’s a promising player. Only just turned 16 but already had a fair whack for the U18’s.

Yeah. His dad’s still down in London. We both work for West London Mental Health Trust. I live down in Berkshire so the young lad is on his own. Said the club are fantastic with him and the family, proper supportive with everything. The People's Club eh ;) ;) ;)
If you see his dad again ask him about his age as last season it appeared he started his Scholarship at 15 before turning 16, normally they’re all 16 at the start. No big deal but he’s the youngest in his 2nd year having just turned 17 .

Yeah. Said he'd been at Arsenal for years but left due to some issues around his education away from football. The family wanted him to gain extra qualifications so he had options if the football career didn't work out. Everton were willing to support him with the studies so he left to join us. Dad said he'd had loads of offers but chose us because of the educational support. Told me the school he goes to but can't remember the name. It was a short name beginning with a C or G, I think...

I will if I see him. Might be a while...he's got about 300 computers in about 20 different buildings!!! 😂

Wade Deacon School in Widnes used to be used. While we see photos of our Academy players with certificates I don’t recall School names being mentioned recently, there was a bit of a fuss about ten years ago at Wade Deacon and they may avoid mentioning names now.
The “ education” angle is interesting in that I assumed Arsenal hadn’t offered him a Scholarship, many clubs provide good education packages these days, City had quite a good reputation for paying for education which would still be available even if they weren’t offered a contract in the future.

Cardinal Heenan is the only school I can think of beginning with C but that's used by the RS generally.
