Everton Youth Teams Thread

What he did really nicely is the old adage of get himself between the sticks 6 yards out time and again.

He looks levels above most young players at doing that, and a natural finisher too. There's a little bit of Francis Jeffers in there too, and I know people who have watched him say Gordon, but I'm not sure I see that as much.

…no, not seeing Gordon at all. The way he comes deep and spins reminds me of Rooney, beyond that his play in and around the penalty area has a bit of Robbie Keane about it.

When we compare youngsters to well-known players, it’s not suggesting they’ll end up being top footballers, it’s just saying what ‘type’ they are.

Yes I agree. Robbie Keane is a great shout actually, the way he just ghosts in, and he was always such a clever player Robbie Keane.

From those clips and the bits I've seen, he looks more mature and intelligent than the players around him too. I think the 3rd goal, he just stands still at the back post when everyone is moving. To some extent you can't teach that.

He also looks like he has time, which again is the hallmark of a good player.

Hopefully he gets to the bench this season, but I'm sure he will be one who will be eyeing up the pre season next year.

It will be interesting to see how Graham develops physically. Technically and tactically it looks like he already has it.

I'm hoping he and Armstrong rub shoulders with the seniors in preseason.

This kid is a goal scorer and always has been. Needs to played as a striker. Proper poacher, fox in the box whatever you want to call it.
I think the fact he scored 4 goals while playing as a10 behind a striker , No 9 Sherif , says a lot for me. I honestly can’t see him being developed as a striker leading the line on his own, which is what we usually expect from our strikers.
