We should pick 5 at the back - i know its a bit of a white flag, but i dont care and after 5 mins of the game, no one is going to care either, and it might even invite Wolves to attack a bit more and leave spaces open. I don't know if Godfrey is available but if he is - start him.

id go, coleman, holgate, branthwaite, godfrey, mykolenko
allan, doucoure

richi DCL

I honestly look at that team and see us leaking goals, but we can't play four at the back, its too open. On current form, we are just very bad right now.

Also we got lucky Wolves played on Thursday

Yes Spurs was a very bad result, I dont think the formation was the issue, we seen just as bad performaces in other formations. What I think Frank needs to do is bed in a formation and the "basics" of how you will play. Being hard to beat has to be part of that!

For me 4-3-3 is the correct way to go, perhaps being more of a 4-1-4-1 when defending, high press at home when the crowd and everything is going for you and perhaps being more conservative away with pressing triggers being loose touch from the opposition or the half way line etc etc, for me a half pitch press doesn`t lead to big gaps that you get pressing the full pitch with the defence dropping off as they are accustomed to.

Work on this formation but learn how to adapt to different teams and systems within that....

I also thought 433 was the way to go, but the midfield three of Doucoure, VDB and Allan seem like they were bypassed easily by Spurs.

Secondly, anytime Kenny or Coleman were out of position, it left a big gap, and 2 at the back.

I'd rather play two in the middle now that Doucoure is back, three CBs and make Wolves go through the middle.

I agree they have to stick to a game plan and stop changing about now.

Didn't we play 5 in the back against Chelsea back in December?

I see where your going with this, but Gray and Gordan have been our best two players by a clear mile, for me they have to start if fit.

Coleman, Branthwaite, Godfrey, Mykolenko

Doucoure DVB

Gordan Deli Gray

Rich

I love Allan, but his lack of mobility is starting to really show.
I'd go with that line up. The fullback debate is still there, and I'd love to see Patterson have a run out, but that's Frank's call. I bet Kenny may be close to starting at RB ahead of Coleman, with the improvement he's shown in the last few weeks.

I think against Spurs you had the front 3 pressing their backline then the midfield coming in behind with the defence withdrawn as they are used to playing but they should have been pushed right on to compress the space/size/shape of the team, the hole between defence and midfield was massive, way way too big and that is where Kane, Son and Kulesevski found their space and then ran at our back 4.

With the 4-3-3 I`d like to see one sat as a CDM if you like with 2 box 2 box midfielders, a bit like the shape City play in there. Obviously they have wonderful players but just the screening of the back 4 by a CDM will help solidity no end, who have we got that could do that so well? TBH I`m not sure, I`d say Allan but does he have the discipline, Doucoure would be wasted in there so perhaps a Gomes or VDB. You really dont need pace to play that position....

Against Spurs our front 6 pressed and once that press was beaten the back 4 were massively exposed.

I dont think 5 backs can solve the problems…The main problem is on the individuals mistakes…I would rather use the 4 backs and 2 defence mids to be dominat in midfield to reduce the pressure for them.

No Doucoure - that leaves the midfield with no legs.
And starting with no keeper is certainly unorthodox.
agree, Doucs in 3CM, and Gordon L wing would be the best starting option

but if need to turn the dial up, gordon and dvb either side of alan, with one or the other moving to link in between their defensive lines
the left wing position then turns into the left forward, as long as Gordon is able to play defensive periods in the centre

gordon starts of course but would like is o see el ghazi and gray given a go up front
they don't lose gordon and perhaps they score more goals
If Gordon could play more centrally (left) it might raise the overall potential of the team.

the other side swings to a 442
and don't think that really works with these players.

hoping richarlison given a proper run of matches in 9, when Grays back

of course all this depends on whether we can get a front 3 up and running.
feels like they're half way between nowhere

where that swing ends up
in formation, hopefully finds itself, in this run home

its risky, but depends also your willing to go for it and stand up.
as only a team can.

Who do you drop from Mondays debacle?

Pickford at fault for the 2nd but he kept the score down so he stays in
Coleman surely has to be dropped
Holgate surely has to be dropped
Keane surely has to be dropped
Kenny has to be dropped or moved over inplace of Coleman
Any one, 2 or 3 of Allan, VDB and Doucoure could be dropped after Monday
DCL and Richarlison.

Guaranteed starters after Monday

Pickford

Gordon

If Grey and or Godfrey are fit I'd put them straight in

Pickford
Kenny - Godfrey - Brainthwaite - Mylo
Gordon Doucs Allan Grey
Dele
Richarlison
