Right midfield isn’t Garners best position, but I think he could be ok there if the central midfield stays narrow and compact as much as possible, hopefully Patterson can give the width on the overlap. Maybe different on the left with Dobbin being a more conventional ‘winger’ and Young predominately sitting behind him.

Important job for Tarks today sandwiched between the youngsters.

Patterson will benefit hugely from having him there instead of Keane. Plenty of experience at LB. No reason (other than just Everton) why that back 4 doesn’t work well.

Very interesting to see Pattersons game today, if it suddenly goes up a level, even just a little bit then Keane simply cannot come back into the team unless it's an absolute dire emergency.
