Under instructions to cover Yarmalenko it seems, Digne also coming across to provide cover. Wide players having to do a bit more leg work which has stifled James a little bit although his pass to Richarlison for the offside goal was something else.

Good instructions too. Yarmolenko he as already destroyed us once so he needs to be denied space

Richarlison's unlucky not have gotten more there. He's taking the initiative to drive at defenders in the box more. That shift of pace with the ball should win a fair amount of penalties if he keeps it up.

Anyway, we've looked pretty good. Massive shame about the Richarlison offside as that would have been a class goal.

We look dangerous when we can get James in that pocket, just haven't been able to do it enough.

Switched off a few times at the back - cut that out and get an early goal and we should have enough.

They look dangerous getting at us from the wings. Richie is doing a good job of tacking back and helping Nkounkou our, Kenny didn’t get much help down his side hence why he was getting terrored.

Couple things that really bug me

Pickford just putting his laces through the ball on a backpass - no aim or nothing just ave it stuff

Dom mainly (but one or two others) automatically play the ball back first time or take a touch when they are in space and can turn to go forward. Its like a lack of awareness of whats around them

Pickford might be under instruction following his gaffe against....can't remember, the one where he took a touch on a backpass, got pressed and it led to a goal.

As for DCL there's a chance he's been told to lay it off and concentrate on getting into goalscoring space rather than turning with the ball. Seen an example right near the end of the half where he'd layed it backwards, turned and ran into a good position before Rodriguez ballooned a tame shot instead of crossing.

I want to dislike Delph but honestly he just looks rusty. He seems eager to try and run and pass with the ball and aside from the random stray passes, has done fine.
