I thought we looked like we were fired up against Newcastle in the opening minutes, but scored 5 minutes in, which was possibly the worst thing we could have done, because we sh4t ourselves and sat back, which wasn't the best thing to do with a weakened back four and zero confidence/momentum in the side.

....talking to a Newcastle fan in work he said "thanks for being so beneficial, teams aren't usually that kind to us". I'm afraid a number of teams will be feeling the same of late, let's just hope the Hammers don't join that list.

I just want to see our lads playing in their positions, looking comfortable and hungry for the win. And then maybe one of them tweets after the game that they're happy aswell would be nice

I'd like to see:

Joel

Garbutt/Baines
Jagielka
Stones
Coleman

Barry
McCarthy

Barkley
Mirallas
McGeady

Lukaku

I don't necessarily want to see McGeady, but he's the best we have in a natural position at the moment, which highlights the real urgent need for a winger this transfer window.

So yeah, just players playing in their best positions, geared around playing around who should be our best striker, which is why I'd leave Naismith out. The reason I'd have Barry ahead of Besic is this is the type of game where you don't want the risk of a player being sent off inside 10 minutes.

I hope Barry doesn't start tonight.

Fresh approach needed in the starting 11.

Don't know who you play instead if McCarthy is out. You could drop Barkley deeper and play Naismith, but Barkley's tackling has been laughable (and I'm a huge fan of course, but tackling to Barkley is what a first touch is to Lukaku).
