We weren't great Saturday, that much is obvious. As I said pre-game, against the better possession teams we sit back quite a bit, I think we learnt our lesson in the Arsenal game where we tried to take the game to them like we had been doing your lower half teams and got punished.

We missed Drinkwater quite a lot as he gets his head up and passes forward. King replaced him and he's solid enough, but he's more of a pass it sideways and backwards player, which I think showed in our lack of attacking rhythm.

One thing I take exception with is that you created two goals but gave three away. No offence, but both of your goals whilst being nice finishes and a neat touch from Barkley were a result of the ball pin balling about the box. On both occasions the ball could have gone absolutely anywhere several times over. Ours were no more reliant on a slice of luck than yours I think.

Whilst you had plenty of the ball I rarely felt overly threatened. I found Martinez's comments about us not posing a threat a bit strange when you consider the shot statistics were not far off identical.

We did try to play the ball into the penalty area and through your defence, a difficult task. Yes, the ball did rebound in the area. But, on both occasions, that followed from a careful, deliberate move.

For the first goal, Barkley created a chance to shoot on target. That wasn't luck. His first shot was saved and so was his second before Lukaku shot and scored.

For the second goal, Lukaku turned and shot, but the shot was blocked. Everton - with another nice touch from Barkley - played the ball to Mirallas who shot and scored.

Yes, the ball could have bounced differently, but I wouldn't call either goal lucky. If you allow shots and don't clear the ball, then you really can't complain.

Again, opposing team forum full of praise for us, and saying "cant believe we won"..."Would have took a draw at half time"

Getting a bit sick of it now though.
