Alli is not a midfielder.

I think we accommodate him with the old 4411 where he is the Cahill type player. That means our wingers have to drop back into the midfield 4 but I think its our best way to balance the side.

His strength is running onto the ball over the top so he's not going to be effective as an out and out midfield player.

We’ll he’s certainly played there but if it makes you feel better you can pretend in the visual VDB is behind him and he’s playing a more advanced attacking midfield role.

Tell you what, there's plenty of times I/we've witnessed some absolute crud in the past, from technically worse sides but I've rarely, if ever, felt that doubt creep in (so early...Xmas time, for me) like I have this season...I don't want to feel it, but it's there and undeniable...with a better squad, on paper.

We've not had two measly wins in a row since the end of August...what the absolute feck.

They play fantastic football without results. Last night by far the better team vs a good Villa.
