I know Rob I wasnt correcting you just adding my own thoughts to that. But to all you Hibbo haters out there, Booooooooo.

He was [Poor language removed] to start the season, but has picked up. He's a right back of the old mould and not a wing back as we used him in. His passing and delivery of crosses is and always has been [Poor language removed], but his tackling his 2nd to none.
Idon,t hate him i just don,t think he is good enough for our first team,he gets caught out of position a lot and his passing is woeful.
I agree he can tackle but you need more than that sim in the premiership he needs to tune in to whats around him.

Good performance and a very good result, Larissa didnt even threaten us apart from their goal but that was our mistake.

Cahill is the main difference me thinks, people say Arteta is the difference between us being a good team and a poor team but Cahill is also.

We're much better playing 4-5-1, just need AJ back to be the lone striker.

Right, I think my head has cleared just enough to be able to typfe... hmmmm.

Great results, couldn't have asked for a better start with the other match being a draw.

Great goals. Superb play for all three goals, inventiveness and pace!

Only blip that I noticed was the lack of movement off the ball. Bizarrely more noticeable from throw-ins. On a few occassions the player taking the throw in had literally no options, and more worringly nobody showed themselves. Once our second goal went in and confidence came through it got better but still a little worrying.

Other than that it was a great result and a brilliant excuse to get drunk all weekend!!! (like I even need one)

I've mentioned this in the Da Silva thread but I'll do so again here. Next time you watch us play, pay attention to when the full backs have the ball and see exactly what options are available to them.

The vast majority of the time there seem just two: Playing down the line either for the winger or for the striker running the channel; A ball back to the centre backs.

Contrast that with the very best passing teams and their midfielders are always on the move looking to help out, create angles for the pass. Ours still seem to have the mentality that when they don't have the ball they don't have a job to do. It did improve in the second half when Carsley and especially Osman started making themselves available but it's a bit cheap to complain about our full-backs distribution when often they don't have anyone to pass to.

yep i agree with all of that.

although im not a big fan of osman in the middle , in a 5 man midfeild last night he did make himself available to the full backs and gave them another option other than a hoof ball into the corner.

another thing i noticed and enjoyed was baines getting forward and supporting pienaar , adding another dimension to our attack on the wing.

now if only hibbert/neville can do the same on the right side and help arteta out with the odd overlap and cut back/cross etc.

ps , watching the recording this afternoon , wasnt radz negative throughout the match ? he didnt have one good thing to say !

i must admit i do agree with his comments about the crowd sometimes. there where moments when you could here a pin drop.very up and down vocally imo.

pps . a top irritance is when we sing "grand old team " half the crowd sing it out of tempo and too fast as soon as it gets to the "we dont care what the red [Poor language removed] say" part. a minor thing i know , but it gets on my tits lol.

I enjoy the match, but I miss the 2nd goal by Osman while I was cooking my dinner during half time, missed the excitment!

But they had us on the edge of our seat when they score there goal, well done lads, the same please with our next match!

I was stuck in hospital refusing a night time sedative until the match finished and was I pleased with the result. I was worried when we went tended to lose concentration at times but some of our movement, passing and touch play was a thing of beauty culminating in Ossies goal. I don't think anyone has mentioned the beath taking headed pass from Tommy G to Big Vic that brought the last goal........it to was a pleasure to watch. If we cut out the concentration lapses then we'll not be too far away.:D

Incidentally, who's a clever boy, another correct score forecast(y) (y)
