I couldn't watch that again. I'm absolutely gutted. Too many mistakes again. We didn't play too bad on the whole but that counts for nothing if you keep making fatal errors like we did today. I personally think Fellaini did well as did Lescott. I would have been bitterly disappointed with 2-2 but 2-3 takes the piss.

Well today...arghghghghgh...

...We played alright, easily the better team, but with one striker up front our only real chance was a mistake by their defence or a set piece.

They scored a good goal to begin with - bad marking by us - but good finish. Then their fans became annoying [Poor language removed].

We got a goal back - which we deserved, as our last 20 minutes of the first half was great. It was Anichebes penalty appeal which changed things round, got the fans shouting abit more etc...

Then Jagielka makes a horrible mistake - a shame seeing as he was having a great game, he just didnt see the player - a bad pass - unlucky.

Then we needed to get back into it, we pressurised quite alot - but they defended well and worked the counter well too. Van Der Meyde warmed up - i was thinking Yippeeee - take off Cahill cos hes been [Poor language removed]. But he brought off Neville, who was having a perfectly average game. Then what puzzled me - Baines for Anichebe? Now surprisingly skysports said he had a bad game - but i thought he was having a good game myself...ahwell.

Then we got the goal - and a great goal too - in the last few minutes of Added time.

Then we make another mistake, leading to their goal - which was scored in the 95th minute. I wouldnt have said our celebrations took 2 minutes did they?

Anyways, unlucky. We played well, but still dont have any real threat on goal. Our match wasnt helped by the Referee who was abysmal - missed so many of our freekicks - and gave them alot - for exactly the same thing - heading mostly. FFS

anyways -

Howard - 5

Neville - 6
Yobo - 6
Jagielka - 5
Lescott - 7

Arteta - 6
Pienaar - 6
Fellaini - 6
Osman - 6
Cahill - 5

Anichebe - 7

Referee - 1

It just wasnt our day...

...also a quick mention to Jagielka - credit to him, after his mistake he played perfectly well - most would lose confidence.

What a fu***** mess. How can you wait until 20 minutes to go to bring a sub when you are losing. Then VDM????????? for Neville at RB?????? Would not mind but then a few minutes later sub the only striker out there with a LB?????????

We had young stikers on the bench ffs what is wrong with them.

I have to say put this down to a Moyes F*** up. Will he ever get tactics right?

I think its pointless to argue abt Fellaini in here. Fellaini is not to be blamed solely on this defeat. Our defence made crucial mistakes and we had to pay for it. Overall we played well but still lots of of room for improvement. I thought our attack was quite predictable. no creativity, through ball whatsoever. just crosses and huff balls. Defence need to tighten up and we can't afford to make such mistakes again.

Err Robert we waited until 5 minutes to go before we made a sub.

Mate its one person slagging Fellaini off.

Er Ghost did not Neville come off at the 83rd minute, granted not 20 but more than 5.(y) Nevertheless abit bleeding pointless. I think the rest of my post summs up the mess.

Fellaini didnt play too bad really, headed well, and attacked well, it just really pissed me off when he didnt win the ball in them 50/50 tackles.

Their goal was scored on the 93:36 mark. But before they got the ball back, Howard had taken a goal-kick, and the ref should have blown the whistle then ... but a MINIMUM of 3 minutes of extra time ...

Curtis Davies is a lucky boy though. The seemed constantly attracted to his hands ... but no penner for us on any of those occassion. Fellaini was a danger all game from crosses ... Lescott simply has finishing like a striker inside the box ... play him upfront with Fellaini ... it's better than playing one upfront.

my opinion on today for what its worth (not much, granted) is that we were unlucky. We played well I thought and certainly had the better of Villa. That gives me a great deal of pleasure. Their goals we did to ourselves really. That's the worrying part, if any.

I think there's plenty of positives to take from today. I'd say, individual errors apart, we have built on last week's good work. I'm optimistic for what we can achieve now, albeit we are hamstrung with our striker crisis.

BTW what has happened to Jose Baxter, I was thinking he mightve got a run out today, but I'm probably an idiot on these things.

But where the three minutes? Who got injured? When was the physio on in the second half?

We made two subs in the last 5 minutes. So that would have added 1 minute of injury time. Don't remember anything else. So really our goal should not have even been allowed to happen.

But if we take away the Baines sub, than that removes the 30 seconds that they scored in. But then if weren't so [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] at defending for 95 minutes than there is no problem.
