I thought much like last week it was a game filled with mistakes and sloppy passes all over the pitch with lack of fitness playing a major part for both teams. The first half was ok, didn't think we were anything special so to go two up was a bit of a shock really and probably shows more about Arsenal than ourselves. You can see signs of our quality though and when fully fit we will be purring again, the most frustrating thing is that we could/should have had 4-6 points from two games we haven't really been that good in, those points could be key at the end of the season.

Just spoke to Greg O'Keeffe and Dave Prentice. Said the club are 'incredibly displeased' with pre season and the general thought is that they don't expect the players to be fully fit until after the international break. I'm good mates with Greg so will try and get some info on transfers even though he's notoriously difficult to get hold of so will try my best.

He's really quite easy to get hold of. So easy, in fact, he might be annoyed with you when he reads this on Twitter......

doubt it. Perhaps we left it too late to organise fixtures and so scrounged around with what we could get. I think we were probably a preseason game short to get us up to match fitness
yeah, ur probably right. just the way it was phrased 'the club' made me think they were unhappy about martinez preparation although ihave prob got that completely twisted

Coleman has easily been our best player through the whole of last season. You think Naismith was more influential than say McCarthy in that time period too?

Not a chance.

Who said anything about the whole of last season? Has Naisy been more influential over the last 8 months? Yes, yes he has. You're hatred of Naisy has no bounds. "Naigood" absolutely shameful.

As has already been mentioned our fitness levels were to blame for our poor last 20 minutes that has cost us 4 points in the last 2 games. I think Barkley was a big miss today not just in his creativity, but his ability on the ball, to retain possession and create space for others was sorely missed second half.
I like many others have championed the need for another striker (and that is still so) but I'm sorry but we desperately need another dominant centre half as distin's mistakes are now costing us too many points.

I thought we where better in the 1st half but not by much.

In the 2nd half we managed the game well up to about 60mins and then weathered the storm that was always going to come up to 70mins however the goal didn't come and by 70mins you look beat.

At that point at any other time of the season we would have gone on to win probably by another goal however when we made the subs on the wings to give us the legs to counter we didn't have the legs to compete in midfield and defence and essentially threw away 2 points due to fatigue.

We weren't much better but we would have normally taken the points from that position.

All in all I expected you to be better and you desperately need a proper holding midfielder.

Holding midfielder is crucial, playing the 4141 to give added protection to the current defensive midfielders results in us lacking penetration through the middle as Ramsey looks uncomfortable playing more advanced than he would in a 4231. I feel a lot of people on this thread are going over the top about how fitness affected the result when we aren't fully fit either.
