I agree. Both games have seen us struggling and then he waits 10-15mins before changing it. This was a great strength of RM last season. He was able to change decisively and with great effect but the last 2 games he has been found dillydallying (if that's a word)

Absolute agree; last season just continued attacking, and due reward...both matches this season sat back and tried to defend a lead...it did not work when Moyes tried to do it, it will not work when Martinez tries to do it...

Ten minutes before their first goal was shouting at him to change it...Besic for Osman was my initial thought but he just stands there and does nothing, and we drop another two points...did not even listen to post match interviews because I was just too angry...the halo is slipping Martinez...

fumin now ffs, bevvied like, would off took a draw before the
game but bieng 2-0 up thats a joke. ;/ conceding late too .. fffs everton

We're going to be so bad when the EL matches start with our current depth of squad.

Besic, stones sat on their bums whilst the mid and defence looked goosed mate, nowt wrong with depth, doesnt matter if its unused, kev was taken off for tactical reasons as he still had a boatload if energy, major problens seems to be bobby seems hetisant this season with changes rather than instinctive

You lot really didn't do much either.
Doubt you'll get anywhere near top 4 based on that performance.
Wilshere? How about your very own Naismith? Stealing a living he is.

Why would we be anywhere near top 4?

We haven't spent 100s of millions on players mate

No need to worry about our lot taking away your 4th place trophy

Overall, I'm pleased with how that went.

I've seen enough now in the first two games to know we'll be up there again this season.

Last season we really couldn't have started slower. This season we've actually started better, whatever you think of the pre-season. There were shades of the 8 game winning streak of last season in that performance. We're not far away. The issue is fitness, clearly. We would have held on had we been even a little fitter, which we will be, soon.

The players have made a lot of the posters earlier in the thread look like prize weapons.

Last season first two games:

0-0
0-0

This season first two games:

2-2
2-2

We aren't getting this "fitness" any time soon and we aren't getting it with our Europa League games. Preseason was an absolute cockup and everyone who was saying "oh, it's only preseason", well, look at where we are now. Playing midweek closed-door friendlies to get players up to fitness and missing out on two easy wins which, guaranteed, we'll look upon at the end of this season and go "if we had won those two easy wins, we'd have finished 4th".
