He is struggling because he is the only one permanently midfield - Gana keeps having to cover Digne and Lookman and Bernard are having to come inside to get the ball, its chaos as he has no idea who will be available until he gets his head up.

If we want to play like this, he has to go to three at the back (and one or two of them have to have a bit of pace; ie: Holgate or Galloway).

But when Bernard gets it in the middle, he looks to play it out to the left. If he goes right, lookman will be wide, whereas left, Digne has to go forward for Bernard.
