Having problems believing Ancelotti took the job being told we have a pile of rubbish to shift before you can buy anyone.

That probably wasn’t part of the discussions.

I believe he’s took the job being informed most of the team are current internationals or previous experienced premier league and international players who are just massively underperforming and believed he could get them performing again. Little did he know what these money grabbing, gutless, wasters had in store for him.

If we continue next season with pretty much the same squad we might as well not bother because these current set of crocks certainly won’t be.

He doesn't appear to be stupid and a couple of hours on Everton TV watching past games would have told him all he needed to know.
Unless he's just after bolstering his pension pot.

If we're not in Europe, so sod FFP. If we get in, we flog a star, and away we go again

Exactly - lets be honest Richarlison is off if we dont get CL football next season so I dont see the huge desire to abide by FFP.

Wolves just got fined about 500k and had their squad restricted by 2 players for European games which they'll likely not even be playing next season.

This is the biggest myth going - accounting everything together we've lost about £18-20 million due to covid / paying the TV companies back.

We could near make that up flogging Kenny to Moyes for £10-14 million.

People go on like we have lost £100 million or something.

Why would we have had to pay TV companies back?

"we could make that up by something impossible happening" Well not all of us live in goo goo ga ga land, Kenny is not getting sold for 10-14 million ffs.
Arsenal have just laid off 50 staff including scouts and they've finished higher and won a cup, We also have people like Sandro and Bolasie coming back both on about 70k a week with all the other wasters currently in the squad.
We have to sell wasters improve the squad in about 4 positions while trying to stay intact with FFP.
Hardly a walk in the park.

Dont know every club had to pay back a certain amount based on finishing position - think the Echo said 12th place = £15 million or so. Add in no fans in the seats I imagine another few million or so.

Ultimately thats nothing in the grand scheme of things for a club thats spent near £200 million in 2 seasons.

Sandro & Bolasie are out of contract next summer.

Kenny will 100% be sold this summer

FFP isnt worth the paper its written on (ask Wolves)

Richarlison will be off for £90+ million next summer if we dont get top 4 so we'll cover any overspend FFP speaking anyway next summer.

By all means he’s certainly not stupid but if you look at our team on paper, experience wise, as an experienced manager yourselff you’d certainly fancy your chances of changing the fortunes of the club. I imagine one of the first games he will have probably watched is the Chelsea home game when we battered them, that’s when talks were at an advanced stage with him. You watch that game and you’d think to yourself if they can play like that for one game there’s no reason why they can’t replicate that level of performance for the remaining games. Obviously they wouldn’t but again this is the crap we have to deal with from this team of overpaid, gutless bums. Something Ancelotti will have come to learn.

He could be here for a last big pension but he doesn’t really need the money and he certainly doesn’t need to tarnish his reputation by taking on a load of bum players who think they’re better than they are and believe they don’t have to turn up every week.

Everybody keeps going on about FFP its been suspended for this coming season and so has no bearing on what we do as we are allowed to fund the club from the owner if need be with no penalties. This season will only be judged in two years time with greater latitude allowed due to the present crisis.

Would this be true, because if its suspended for a year, we have a lot of big wage players off the books next summer to compensate for any purchases this summer?

I don't know who's gone next summer, but it will help again.

Funny the way every transfer window turns into our most important ever. I hope they have had a team to look at lessons learnt for the past few months so the same mistakes don’t happen again. Every signing should have it’s due diligence carried out and someone’s name should be next to that signing. Then just sack anyone who signs the Iwobis of the world.

Regarding FFP haven't Lille come to an agreement where their overspending will just mean stricter spending restrictions in the future? If so, seems that FFP is losing its bite a little with City's punishment, Wolves restrictions and now Lille.
