Right, firstly - we got £47.5mil UP FRONT, for Stones - who didn't want to be here. A WORLD RECORD fee that will go up to 50mil.

To counter anyone coming in for Rom, we set the high valuation.

Not to mention that Stones hasn't been worth anywhere near £47.5m either, two poor seasons defensively. We got £47.5m for potential...

Can argue all people like but the matter is we've always got good prices for players.

Pure speculation and no evidence to back that up whatsoever.

Nobody knows what was the required price for Stones. Moshiri hasn't one been quoted about any of that.
That's exactly what happened with Stones. We even left it to the very last minute before we had to sell to extract as close to 50m as we could.

50m was all over the media and funny that's the price we almost got.

We all know that it is on the last day that the deals finally get signed, it is what makes it the day it is.
In most cases the preparatory work has been going on for days and weeks and it is clear that we have been active.
Only on Wednesday will we know how successful we have been, but all the signings we have already made were largely a surprise and not predicted and I think that may continue.

But again, speculation. When did Moshiri, or anyone at the club come out and say "we want £50m"... When?

a disciplined, well-organised squad that is comfortable playing together is worth far more than any transfer.

whingeing about not spending enough/being too dull to contribute anything but parroted sky sports blather is a particularly English affliction.

Have to say it's disappointing we've left it this late. In all honesty we still need a keeper, centre back, and striker quite desperately.

We also need another creative midfielder who can push Ross for his position, or someone more creative to play alongside Gueye.

That's 3/4 signings, be surprised if we get more than 2.

Be nice to have another creative MF, but I'd be happy with a 4-3-3 of Barry (sitting) with Gueye and McCarthy/Davies (plus Besic, when he can play again) if Ross needs to sit.

I expect three in.

Re-read my post.

I think it may be one tomorrow, then two (at least) on deadline day.
You said equally surprised we wouldn't see someone tomorrow. That's 50% hardly what I call "expect".

If I knew that's what you meant by "expect" we probably wouldn't have been arguing so much over the window and saw relatively eye to eye.

This has been mentioned several times, but we should remember how City's soending looked the first couple years of their wealth. They were not buying the best players in the world, they we buying the best from lower level clubs in england and abroad. They had a bigger net spend for sure, but they also have never been able to move on young talent for huge fees like we have. Before we go screaming and throwing our toys around like children about broken promises, lets remember that they were all media and fan speculation and that we have spent near 50 million in one window and landed 3 additions to the starting xi.
