Exactly and the season before (same team) finished 5th so I see no big panic on as we have a good squad it was just poorly managed.

Is the fact that we finished 5th in a season that started three years ago really making you feel comfortable? What would you say to a kopite that kept on harping on about the same season in which they lost the league by just 2 points? You would tell them to get real and stop living in the past. The premier league has completely changed since three years ago. The fact that we have barely changed since then is a cause of concern, not something to make you feel confident.

Thing is Toff, would you choose him ahead of Deulofeu for example, not so sure i would do...

Depends, they're both about as consistent as each other.

At the moment, with two years in age between them, I'd say Mane edges it, but I reckon Del has a lot more to his game and much more potential.

If Koeman can get Kev back to his true level (I'm talking 2013/14 and beginning of 2014/15) plus get Del fit enough to be consistent (he's never gonna be a player who bursts his guts for 90 minutes, but he does need to improve his stamina) and then factor in Lennon who I think will be a very tidy player under Koeman and somebody who will play a key part in the high-press/counter-attack style RK favours, we've got a hell of a choice in attacking wide areas.

Add to that, bringing in a playmaker of the quality of Mata (or another option should that move not come to fruition) and we're looking rosy.

It has changed. It has been proven that good team spirit, organisation and tactics can be more telling than expensive players. I'm hoping Koeman will bring these qualities.

Jags, Baines and Barry were the spine of the team that did well in 13-14 and they are three years older now.

To further emphasise my point, you need to consider the following:

Tottenham Hotspur are much stronger than three years ago.
West Ham are much stronger than three years ago.
Leicester City are much stronger than three years ago.
The likes of Stoke, Southampton and Crystal Palace are all much stronger than three years ago.
A Manchester United side being led by Jose Mourinho rather than David Moyes will be much stronger than three years ago.

The idea that we will be just fine because we still have James McCarthy and Gareth Barry 'controlling' the midfield is absurd. Three years ago may as will be ancient history, our team needs drastic improvement to match the improvement seen by other football clubs.

Christ, I'm off to work. I'll use a different computer later on.

You can say that again mate :)
