Personally.... i love john Stones. Love the way hes grown, the way he plays and even, sometimes ;( ,the chances he takes! He is the most skillful defender i have seen, at his age, for a very long time anywhere! I was lucky enough to see the mid 80's defence at their peak and ive also seen many other teams in Europe with exceptional young defenders. His age and skill completely outdoes the majority ive seen!

Have to agree with a number of others here though, i think Stones decided last summer that his future wasn't at Goodison, and i don't think the club or us fans will change that. Love to keep him for another full season, and im not being defeatist, but realistically, can we?. For what its worth i feel Bobby is building a great squad, made [Poor language removed] loads of mistakes, but he is still learning too. No it doesn't help us evertonians in the meantime but damn, its an exciting watch with my two young Everton supporting boys every week! Im all for Yam, what an exciting player he is, and based on the above, even if that costs us a player that wont be here for long anyway! No matter how much potential he has!

Swansea away from this year comes to mind, when he not only simply ghosted by Swansea's press when on the ball, but also hardly gave the attackers a sniff at goal in a performance that at times defied words.

And to be fair to Stones, the style the manager implements leaves the defense with a lot of work to do, and often not enough hands on deck to do it. I think we will see an uptick in our defensive cohesion(have already seen such over the last couple of weeks) when Coleman returns and Stones can play alongside Jagielka again.

It'll be a sad day when he leaves, because he is a truly gifted player. But the transfer fee we receive will soften the blow by a good amount, I'd imagine.

Some very good points made there.It is only my own opinion in saying his head has been turned.I think with Naismith going (who I see.. as to be his rock at Everton) he will leave.
