Naturally we're either first or at the forefront of any positive initiative.

Not really. Chelsea have been doing this for almost two years. I'm very pleased we are doing it now and maybe this reflects a more progressive attitude from the new ownership but I lobbied the club 22 months ago and, although they did reply, it has taken them a long time to back up their position which was that they were working towards it. https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/lobby-the-club-to-pay-the-living-wage.71686/
Another positive is that the noises coming from the club are that they will expect contractors to honour this agreement as well (although that may have to wait until current contracts are honoured), so cleaners, retail staff and other associated workers can look forward to, in some cases substantial, pay rises as well.

Very impressed but still think £18k is low for a living wage. Not too bad up here but mental down south (I know there is a higher tariff for London).
