Nope, the poor boy has lost it, a few people have today ive noticed.

I think its all hitting home how much we need players. I dont share his view, the current squad is defo good enough to finish within the top 10, no question. But without some more players and players of the right quality I think we will struggle to continue our progress.

We have everything going for us, apart from money. Its horrific how close we are, but also how far away it all is.

FFS we'll be alright.

I think the fans have just got a bit used to being "the best of the rest" and going beyond expectiations...to a point that we expect to do it year in year out.

It wont be the case all the time. But to say we'll drop is rather silly. Worst case is we finish 10th at best....and win the Europa Cup ahahaha

Don't believe the hype about the premier league. There is alot of dross in this league. We have the sky 4 then us, Villa, Man City and Spurs and at a push West Ham, the rest to me are no where near Everton.

indeed. take the sky 4 away and the league is thin on the ground in quality.

struggling to stay up? sheesh. we will probably finish 5th again. but get nowhere the top 4.

So you can compare us to Citeh? Spurs even!

Fulham got more of a chance of 5th.
Anything can happen, but we still have the majority of the players that were with us last season that finished 5:th. Castillo did only play a few subs and Jacobsen only a few games as well. The others that left didn't participate. We had all strikers out for a long spell last season, midifelders and defenders as well at various points.

I don't think we face the risk of falling out of the PL with this squad, but I do think we will have a hard time finishing 5:th again unless we get improvements since our competitors have improved and strengthened their starting-11.

Fulham may do well again, but i think Europe may well stretch them.
With the spending power of Man City and to a lesser extent Spurs, i think they will be closer to Everton this year.
For me we will finish top 8 and if we do add a few decent players 5th is possible, just don't think we can crack the top 4 yet.

Without signing players and loosing many to injuries I can see Everton fighting to stay up this season.

Who here agrees?

C'mon you're having a laugh arent you? I hope you are, we are more organised, we have more self belief, and we're better equipped at handling the pressure to remain in the top ,than the rest of the pack. No we wont finish top 4, but we will finish 5th or 6th. We can never take that last step, The Villareal tie sums it all up for me, we had it snatched from us, and then you at what Villareal went onto achieve
after that, they were semi-finalists in the CL that year, earned a [Poor language removed]-load of money, and now they are regulars in the CL, and financially set-up. It could have been us but its the Everton way I suppose to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Anyway I'm rambling too much vino.
