Everton - The Toffees Nickname - Time for change?

Honestly in my view it,s time for a change, The Toffees has no traction or meaning with the current millenial Everton fans, in a new global digital media world with respect to our brand.


Right I will go first. My suggestion

Don't think I've ever referred to us as being The Toffees either. I've always just called us The Blues to be honest ?

I think the Toffees comes in & out of vogue. Never heard a lot of it in 70s&80s, but now toffeeweb/toffee TV etc it is around a lot. I have never called us the toffees, and always called us the blues. I am not interested in the blue devils( surely a wind up?) or any Everton alliteration

I’m just sick of everyone being so politically correct and whinging about everything . Seeems like all young people are campaigning for something or telling me that something is racist, wrong, discrimination, or cruel etc. don’t get why everything has become offensive or needs changing . I get equal rights , racism etc but the millennials and do gooders take it so far that it becomes stupid and makes it hard to take the serious stuff more seriously. I don’t even really like the nickname “ the toffees “ I don’t dislike it either , but it’s a bit of our history and not offensive so I don’t see why things like that actually warrant a change. Seems the world has gone soft and there always seems to be someone or some group whinging about something . I mean in Melbourne they had to change the green man light signs for crossing the road because it was offensive . Google took the eater egg out of their logo because it’s offensive to vegans just a weird world that’s all
