Everton: The Next Arsenal?

They got value out of those players and won things before selling them. They'll win something with Fabregas, no doubt, as they're a strong force again.

They sold at their peak value. Would we sell Baines, Fellaini or Rodwell? Possibly, but we'd make sure we got the top valuation for them. Even United are susceptible to that. I would like to see ready-made replacements coming through though, as they have at Arsenal and Man U.

Ok. Supposing that at some time we will have some money while not having mega bucks, We need someone on the scouting front with the ability of Monchi at Sevilla. Who would be a reasonable model to copy in general considering their success at bringing through youth players.

It's difficult to tell how strong our scouting actually is. Are Mustafi, Gueye, Silva and Vellios masterstrokes or total punts? We know that Coleman and the American lads were recommended by former pros and that Moyse was given the nod by Hiddink about Bily. Clubs on the continent will mine a specific area such as Brazil or Argentina. Are we spreading ourselves too thin? I still think that Merseyside and North Wales should belong to us. I know that we are proactive about scouting, but perhaps we need to think outside the box a bit more?

All your points are very valid, im just saying, Moyes now must realise he isnt getting any money; so is he trying to take the Arsenal route, maybe he will sell someone like Rodwell, but he realises he must only do that when he can get full value for him.

And if he sells Rodwell for good money and brings in a classy striker and pacy winger to complete us, would we be complaining then? Moyes knows what hes doing...

EVERTON: THE NEXT ARSENAL?

well thats one way of putting it if you like. we`re building a squad through scouting youngsters and adding the occasional big money player, tapping it round and trying to play stuff on the floor which we are capable of with the skilled players could be compared to Arsenal but we were known for silky football in the school of science days so really we are re-discovering our roots
