"Everton That" moments

England losing their sixth spot in Europe in 1996/96 due to Wimbledon and Sheffield Wednesday playing reserves in the Intertoto cup the season before.

Guess who came sixth?
I thought we were almost qualified in the last game of that season until Dennis Bergkamp scored a last minute equaliser for Arsenal who then qualified instead.
Joe Parkinson had scored our goal with less than 10 minutes to go and we were all going mad at Goodison until the ā€œEverton thatā€ moment.

Went on the Goodison tour on Monday, April 28th and in the pre tour meeting room with the cup winners cup and canon league trophies... whilst the woman was giving a talk about 1985 and all that... all the big screens in the room had sky sports news on with Liverpool celebrating their title win on the pitch , ffs šŸ˜‚
Wasn't there an off switch ! šŸ˜‚

Yup, maybe a rare double moment!

20/21 season beating RS, spurs, Arsenal away, being in the top 3-5 all season only to finish 10th in the last game our lowest position all season. Having James Rodriguez but not being able to see him live.

That season was a pretty Everton That season.

Notable mention also to Niasse getting banned for "diving", then the Prem scrapping it after that

One that will likely happen in the next few weeks, we finish above Spurs and United yet one of them get a place in the CL. Less likely would be to also finish above palace too, they win the cup and get into Europe too.

Finishing 4th and 5th under Moyes when it got you CL play off and europa league qualification. Now it gets you automatic group phase CL football.

Those years of finishing 6th and 7th but not making Europe and now 8th makes it into some piss easy competition we probably could have won a few times under Moyes.
