Martyn
Neville Jagielka Distin Baines
Donovan Arteta Fellaini
Cahill Rooney
Ferguson

Subs: Howard, Weir, Pienaar, Yakubu, Lescott, Osman, Gravesen

Donovan only played about 10 games for us, in the same decade Arteta won our POTS award twice in the same position. The fast-approaching january window is tinting some spectacles a rosy hue with regards to Landy I think.

---------------Martyn---------------
Neville--Jagielka--Lescott--Baines
--------------Carsley---------------
Arteta---Cahill--Gravesen-Pienaar
---------------Yakubu---------------

Yous lot's XIs would batter mine, but I reckon mine's the most representative of the decade.

No, it's just indicative that we've had a problem down the right for a good 10 years. Arteta was great there for a while, but in a team of the decade you put him in his preferred position; the one where he really came into his own. As a dedicated right sided player, Donovan is the best we've had since Kanchelskis. It's as much an admission of our right handed failures, as it is of Landon's excellence.

Weir and Cahill benched????????

I love Davey Weir, but Jags is the best defender we've had that I can remember, and I think Distin this season's been as good as any central defender has in the last 10 years for us. Just my opinion, of course, mate. Although I made sure to include Tiny Tim in my starting XI :P

Exactly. One of the big criticisms of Moyes this for me. He's threatened to sort that a few times (Davies, McFadden, Donovan) but never has long term. So you're really left with someone who did well in that spot for a brief period.

Naughton---Koldrup----Senderos----Ball

Donovan---Da Silva---Fernandes---Bentley

The team that should have been, dO OnE MoyLeZ.

Dacort was truely ace.

He was only 23 when we signed him. Walter Smith did have an eye for a good player in the early days.

He was indeed, I used to hate those days when we were stagnant and couldn't keep hold of our best players.

Erm, what?

It's sickening.

By the way, where's the fat headed fraud Kenwright? Praying for a win against City so he can come out of the bunker to deliver his Yuletide bullshit.

*sigh*

Mixed bag really. For every Dacourt and Materazzi there was a Nyarko and Degn.
