Mate, he was linked with £15m+ bids about a year ago. Got into some trouble and attitude problems for Rennes this season have brought his price right down, hence why he went for less than £10m. M'Vila is a top class CM and only 22 as well.

Well is this a player that we were actually in for,or another one that's tagged with the Everton name now he's gone elsewhere that we did not even attempt to get/buy/loan etc just to make it seem like we were after someone etc,i expect a few in as some think though, loans probably at best.

Knew it.

You can smell an Everton transfer 'bid' a mile off.

But the fact that the player wanted to come to us and it couldn't happen puts a whole new perspective on it.

Well in Bill.

He isn't a top quality player. Look at his last couple of years.

Top quality players normally go to a top quality club, not Rubin.

By my calculations he is roughly 400 times the player neville is in midfield, hes a better player than Osman if he hits top form, would give us real strength in midfield. For us to miss out on a player of this potential at that price could well be the difference between 4th and 7th.

Regards the likes of Drenthe, I've no problem with Moyes taking a risk on these sort of players on a low price, we have to take chances like these with out dreadful budget, and in my opinion Drenthen won us far more points than he cost us, for all his problems

Sheedys take would be intresting but how on earth would this have gone in our favour? The agent would have been pushing the player to accept the massive deal on the table for him and the player. All this talk of the player showing sympathetic gestures to other clubs is rubbish.

This is a money game nothing more, nothing less. We want to play at the big boys table then you need to bring the dough.

Ultimately it's nothing really to do with the agent though it's to do with the player as he employs the agent mate not vice versa, although clearly they have a lot of influence . It's admittedly rare (even ungeard of ) that players rejected bigger deals but the fact that we are talking Russia and all it's myriad of 'issues' might have influenced the players decision. Like the sneijder deal this transfer smacked of a player waiting for another , better or more attractive , offer . When push comes to shove though and te offers are on the table would he have chosen us , if the offer/report is genuine.

So basically, if Heitinga had been sold by now, M'Vila would be an EFC player? Sigh.

I wonder if that's the case or the £3.3m bid was related to the perceived €4m euro asking price for heitinga ?
