All players out of contract in the summer. Make it so Marcel, we don’t need Ramos though Godfrey will do

Completely agree, why sign elite talents at academy level when there should be a pathway for the likes of Pennington and Garbutt
The Academy should be providing better players who are good enough to push for the first team, so we don't have to go out and buy 2-3 promising youngsters a year.

Judging by this season alone, we have very clear positional targets:

Right Back - Coleman, Kenny, Holgate, Godfrey and even Iwobi to an extent, have stepped in this season which has made it quite clear we are looking to strengthen here as although each player has adapted neither has really made this position undropable.

Coleman will remain as backup next season, Kenny will return from Celtic for one last chance to make this spot his own but we seemed happy to sell to Burnley in January so maybe not. Godfrey and Holgate will want to be pushing Mina and Keane for their spots and Iwobi will be trying to claim his right winger spot.

Right Winger - A position held by James during the earliest part of the season but he now has been used as a more free role becoming more central to the play. Iwobi has been used with real purpose especially v Wolves but he too has been staggered in this role. Even Richarlison has been pushed over on occasion.

Walcott's loan out to Southampton left a more experienced player to fill into this role but honestly he was very pleased to be moved on.

Second Striker - While DCL has been a revelation this season, he has found some games tough and even needed a rest to get back into the goals The addition of Josh King is a direct swap for Tosun which already feels like an upgrade. We also have Kean to return from PSG but with his current form at the French club, I think he'll be looking to be more than 2nd fiddle

Whether King is willing to make his move permanent and whether the club is willing to spend a small fee but huge wages on a bit part player at 29.

I know a lot of people will bring up the Goalkeeper situation but I think Carlo is happy to have a rotation of keepers and the club seem happy with Olsen so far so I'm expecting this to be a permanent position in the summer
That’s was a complete waste of time lol

so basically you are happy with everyone.

1) we will sign a RB, Kenny won’t be coming back. And Coleman will most likely be 3rd choice as I can still see Holgate/Godfrey stepping in at times, before Coleman

2) RW Will also be upgraded, I still think they wouid sell iwobi for a decent price, if they got offered one. I think they will want 4 quality players to cover the front 3 , including James. With 2 more good back up IE king and a back up. Striker.
Kean also won’t be coming back .

3) Olsen may get bought but he will be back up to hopefully I new number one. Ancelotti isn’t happy with Pickford, the question is can we move him on?

4) I think we will also buy another midfielder, Davies & Gomes have both done ok, but you wouldn’t want them 2 to play 30 league games next season. Again I would be up for selling Gomes, Delph & Siggurdsson. And bringing in another top class midfielder.

Of course a lot will depend on where we finish in the league and who we can offload. But to kick on again, we need 5 new players

Depends on where we finish
If no Europe 30-40m
If Europa 60m
If CL then Usmanov may run amok and 100m would not surprise me
We spent 60 last summer with virtually no sales
It will be more than 30/40. that’s one decent player. Ancelotti is not here to mess about.

And don’t give me ffp and big loses. FFP was a much bigger issue this time last year and all the journalists amd ITK’s said we wouldn’t spend a penny.

We should be able to get a lot of money off the wage bill and bring in some sales
Kean? So I can see us spending a few quid.
Especially when you see what ancelotti has done with this squad. Surely Moshiri & usmanov are not going to waste his talents

It's worth statung as well, that 60-100m will go a lot further, even than last summer. There was a 65-70% collapse in January. Essentially you get 3 x as much for your money in simplistic terms. Even if it's not as dramatic, you could easily get twice as much for your money this summer, and we areobviously spending it better.

We spent around 65m this summer. Imagine doing that but twice. Wow.

I don't think we will have a net spend this summer. Hopefully we will get £30m for Kean, £7 million for Kenny and maybe a few million for some of our other dross. That leaves us money to buy a right back and a forward, and then hopefully bring in 2 or 3 who are out of contract. If we could sell Pickford for £20 million and bring in someone like Romero on a free that would give us more to spend, but I'm not hopeful.

I don't think many, if any, clubs who are in, and stay in, the Premier League will spend money as they've made massive losses in the pandemic. Promoted teams will get a shot in the arm from the tv money which they won't have budgeted for, and may be our best chance to buy some of our surplus players.

We also have to remember we are building a new ground, and need to get on with that so we can up our revenue every season in the medium term.

yeah, its not like we spend millions a year on an Academy to bring through players into the first team or anything.
Which has failed for quite a long time honestly. We do better going after other teams youths and training them up. Far as I can remember we have Barkley, that's it. And no, Tom Davies doesn't count, he's barely a footballer.

The money is there OK
Its just a matter of getting around a relaxed FFP and STCC
Usmanov and Moshiri just need to be creative
I don't think UEFA will object to us throwing 2x20m at teams in France who are on their knees financially

I agree with a lot of this mate, but do think we might struggle to sell the players you mention. Maybe Pickford goes on loan somewhere.

GK, RB, CM, RM, CF

I make that five positions to strengthen in the Summer. RB and RM the two priority positions for me. CF will probably depend on whether we can shift Kean or not, likewise CM on whether or not we can replace Sigurdsson.
