Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

We've sold our top scorer and talisman and thus far have Mcneil coming in who scored no goals last season. We still need a forward.
I think they see richarlison has having to be replaced by two players.

McNeill being one and you’d imagine an out and out striker being the other. Broja I guess is the main name.

Get him in and two midfielders and I’d say we are overall in a better place than last year squad wise.

It seems impossible for some to just wait until the windows closed before judging the owner, DOF, manager.

We signed Cahill, Jags, Coleman, Pienaar, Arteta and none of them were big exciting names but they fitted the system.

Fans just want big name or exotic looking signings these days so they can buzz on social media without questioning what will those signings actually bring to the side.
How dare you make sense if everyone had your perspective this thread wouldn't be fun anymore.

But also what the modern game teaches us footballers are playing longer and longer.

We wont know if its going to work until it happens. If his legs are gone, yes its a problem. Ifhe's still athletic and fit, which his appearances last season dont suggest he was overworked, it may be fine. I can appreciate your concern about it, but I'm taking the more positive outlook and just remembering "our midfield" is shocking.

One thing it wont be is a waste of money if its a loan. He's an improvement on Davies, Gbamin and Gomes put together. He's more useful than Allan, who I think has the mental abilities but has so little pace he cant do what he wants.
You know I like Allan. He is a great tackler, and if he just had a bit more pace or passing, he would be it. He was fantastic under ancelottiball but now he is exposed too much.

Yes I like Allan. I just dont think he has the pace for it and as a result can get caught out. I think Technically hes decent and i think he knows in his head what needs to be done. Even if he was just 5 years younger and had that energy/extra yard to snap at people like a terrier.

He may be decent at corners, but once he gets to Goodison he’ll struggle to beat the first man and get a ball above the knee of an under 8 when taking a corner.

It’s the Everton way.
I like how the first thing Lucas Digne did after leaving us was come to our place with Villa and put in a deep corner that their player headed in
