Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

I think it means that was last year, and we will have satisfied FFP. Remember we were just under on the 3 year scheme. The year to "come off" for this year is -13 loss. So in order to stay within rules, we need basically better than a -13 loss.

Before player trading -70. With player trading add back in 74m ish, so a +4.

The next year to come off, is a -111 year. So we have a lot more flexibility next year (i.e from July onwards). We will have a bad 19/20 (counted as one) -80, last year will be a +4 and whatever this year ends up being.

That was exceedingly confusing...

So youre saying the 21/22 season we had to balance with -£13mil from the 1st season of the 3 ?

So its effectively
-£13mil
-£111mil
-£80mil

As of tomorrow then it will be
-£111mil
-£80mil
+£4mil

If this season 22/23 we can get things breakeven then it may be

-£80mil
+£4mil
+/- £0mil

Is that correct?

Assume he meant £35m.

THat's before taking into account Kean going this summer with that £25/30m as well.

We may do something, plus any bonus cash for the likes of Gomes and co.
I hate thinking so much about the finances of football, look what this club has done to us. Doesn't it mean though that this hypothetical £35m doesn't mean we can only sign a player/s for £35m but more that for arguments sake we could sign let's say 5 players for a total of £175m in yearly installments of £35m for the lot, meaning we're only technically spending £35m of actual money but are committed over the next 5 years on that same payment every year. Deals don't work specifically like that because of the way installments are structured but that's my understanding of how teams get around it, more on big transfer fees but I think it would still work the same on smaller fees spread out between players.

No idea about the numbers, but the premis is correct. When you extrapolate it further to when the ground is built, (nil costs, more income), the reason for the move becomes more obvious. Hence Moshiri and his "short window of opportunity".

According to The Athletic, Todd has adopted the 'baseball mentality' of suggesting player trades

could have traded richarlison for gallagher and some money maybe

who knows

dont think it would have happened though as it looks like we needed straight up cash for him

if todd is prepared to accept players trades wonder if we could reach an agreement where mina goes to chelsea and we get someone in return
