It doesn't seem that long ago when we 3 clubs were fighting for the best of rest! In the Moyes days obviously, but look how things have changed... Villa are now Championship foder and Spurs are now Champions League foder! Yet we've stayed the same! Should we count ourselves grateful for not becoming a Villa? Should we count ourselves unfortunate for not becoming a Spurs?

As obvious as it is, we remained static and did neither... Yet I know which I prefer!

I'd just prefer us to be a bit more Everton and start challenging for honours again, not arsed about anyone else to be honest. Villa is just a yard stick of what can happen if you aren't careful.

Only way for us to do a Spurs and avoid a Villa in the age of FFP is to essentially get in that top manager.

When you consider how skint we were compared to the other 2 clubs at the time it shows what a good job Moyes did on a limited budget.

If the board want anything more than us treading water they have a big decision to make in the summer imo

We haven't stayed the same, we are nowhere close to being the best of the rest. But as you say if you look at Villa, things could be worse. Sort of catching syphilis but being thankful at least it isn't aids kind of thing.
