Player Valuation: £70m
Everton's Premier Reserve League match against Aston Villa on Tuesday 13 September will now take place at 7pm at the Halton Stadium, Widnes.

The Reserves' game against the Midlands outfit was originally scheduled to take place behind closed doors at Finch Farm, but will now be open to the public.

Alan Stubbs will be fielding a strong side for the game against Villa, with new singings Royston Drenthe and Denis Stracqualursi both set to feature.

Tickets for the game cost just £4 for adults and £2 for juniors and are available on the turnstiles on the night.

The match will be Everton Reserves' fourth outing of the 2011/12 campaign, having recording one win, one draw and one defeat so far.

Good stuff , be good for the 2 new lads to get match fitness ahead of the Wigan and WBA games , I reckon Moyes might start both in the cup tie , Drenthe might even get the nod to against Wigan .

Mucha, Gueye and Barkley also in the squad.

Full squad: Mucha, Davies, Browning, Garbutt, Bidwell, Gueye, Baxter, Drenthe, Stracqualursi, McAleny, Forshaw, Hope, Nsiala, Barkley, Mustafi, Orenuga, Lundstram.

Seems a bit strange to have Barkley in the squad. Its not as if he hasnt been playing and needs fitness. Think it points towards moyes leaving him out of the starting 11 for our upcoming games, and keeping him sharp with reserve football.

But I though his brittle 17 year old bone structure meant we had to limit his playing time? Why then would we play him in a reserve game?

Oh no... could Damon have been... wrong? Surely not?!

I think playing in the reserves is far far less demanding than the premier league. I imagine the game time is ideal to get him a bit sharper. I noticed his cross field ball to Baines that was not the easiest option available to him ended up with us losing possesion and Villa scoring. I'm not laying the blame at Barkleys door here, there were other opportunities to stop the villa second goal. I also want Barkley to be spraying the ball about from one side of the pitch to the other but it has to be accurate, that is why games in the reserves will be usefull to him. I noticed his cross field ball in the under 21s, two went straight into touch! The lad is going to be a proper player. He is also going to make loads of mistakes.

Reserve games are such a horrible standard of football. They're good for fitness and that's about it.

think he's learning from SAF and how he treated Rooney. SAF didn't limit him in games, he threw him in at the deep end. I suspect that Barkley will get more games than we can anticipate this season.
