Everton in the Community

Isn't social media, including this forum, a wonderful invention.
It allows people to say black is white and to find fault in anything and everything. Including an organisation supported materially and morally by our great club which does fantastic work over about 50 projects to help people within Merseyside.

Congratulations to all the people who are quietly giving their time and expertise to make this happen.
And hang your heads in shame you parasites who are sniping at the organisation.

Where are these people?

EiTC and the club hosted this man and Bill Gates today, lots of angry reaction on social media.
I'm not surprised. Everton in the Community. The community that scumbag and his cohorts have ripped to pieces with cuts to the bone in the past 6 years.

EitC do some good work. They let themselves down badly there though. And being on the wrong side of the politically charged schools issue a few years back.

And the 'captain' of this club parading round with him, He goes down another notch.

Oh dear.

So Jags goes down a notch, what about Martinez? As he was with Osbourne and Gates as well like?

Ridiculous comment. Oh and it was to promote Sport Relief btw.....

I couldn't give a monkeys about what they were there for. Osborne is toxic.

That's as maybe, but the cheap shot at Jags was ridiculous. He's doing his job, same as Martinez was. In hosting Bill Gates and Osbourne, and promoting a charity event.

Spot on that. The only thing I'd say is you have to look at the ownership of the club who have enforced this dictat all the way down.

You have a football club currently situated in the poorest and most anti-conservative city's in the UK (I don't think they've had a single MP in a generation) alongside being a club that stood against the Conservative & Unionist association of Liverpool when they went on to found the scum across the park. These things matter and we've let ourselves down badly there.

TBF to Kenwright, I think he sways the other way politically. I doubt it was down to him (or that he's in any position to care too much right now anyway).

This has Elstone's prints all over it. The free marketeer...who's absolutely hopeless at free market enterprise.

Only at Everton.

Unless I was contractually obliged to appear for a bbc endorsed/organised charity, I'd have objected in the strongest possible terms to a photoshoot with that avaricious, malodourous cocaine-fuelled hypocritical idiot - for the exact reason @davek gave.

And even if I was obliged, I'd have done everything in my power to have swerved it - And there's absolutely NO WAY I'd have smiled for the shots- let alone held up a shirt with that twunt's name on it - if the photoshoot was unavoidable.

It does. I can't blame Jags too much (though I wouldn't have posed with Osborne). It's clueless though, anybody who doesn't think this will greatly undermine Everton's standing in the community and moral high ground with the population of Liverpool is deluded. As you say Elstone's prints all over it.

I think you can start the above with just free marketer really. Everyone free marketer there's ever been has completely ballsed up just about any country the ideas have been tried in. Global recessions bailed out by state intervention to keep their pipe dream alive. Freidman was right when on his death bed he said he got it all wrong.

Most footballers probably vote Tory tbf

Who he votes for is up to him. He is there as a representative of Everton football Club and he has dragged our name through the mud their. Completely trashed the history of the club in the principled stance it took against John Houlding.

It wasn't you so that's easily spouted, as you're not the club captain on £45k a week, who's been told to host Bill Gates and Osbourne who are visiting to promote a charity event.

Martinez escaped the same wrath for some unknown reason. Faux outrage again.
