Have you ever met your Everton hero, if so what was it like? I met my namesake Alan Ball at a sportsman's dinner many years ago and left me totally speechless. I asked him who his favourite player was in his position and his reply was "Tony Kay"

Yup I met Big Dunc outside Goodison when I was 15. Loved it, he was such a gent. Still have the photo up in my bedroom at home!

Did meet my other sporting hero quite a few times.

I've met two of them, Adrian Heath's best mate is my cousin so that was arranged when I was wee, I just remember being speechless.

Had a few bevvies with Duncan too, in Retro Bar, top top fella. We smoked together.
