Everton have only themselves to blame if Romelu Lukaku destabilises the club

What the hell does "ambition" even mean? That word is bandied around so much these days it has lost any currency. I want specifics from manager, board, whoever, about what is planned for this club. And when. And how they plan for it to happen. Ambition means jack, frankly. But it does provide Rom an excuse to go to a club with ambition. Cos we don't have it. Apparently.

Rom wants to be in a team that guarantees him trophies. Having to take a major role to win them himself (such as semi final v United) proved to be beyond him. Apparently that is ambition, achieving something difficult that is not guaranteed and hasn't been done recently is no longer seen as ambitious.

I genuinely think the board want this so as they have an excuse to sell

That's the reason they left Barkley so late so they have an excuse to sell him and cash in

We have zero ambition it's all about selling our best young players for maximum money

Says it all when we are quick to tie down has beens such as Gibson and barry
not the daftest scenario I've ever heard.
If true Koeman will walk...unless he IS only here for the money and not the project
worst case; Both may be true and Moshiri's IS here to make money on the back of the new ground.

again not the daftest scenario in the world - Everton that.

Koeman summed it up by saying it canno all be done in a season . It is also hard to get top Players to sign with no European football on offer . Rom is right that the board need to work harder and try and match everybody's ambition to make the club a top European side . I think myself we are finally moving in the right direction but patience is needed here . The next 3 matches are huge for us and we need unity to try and get points from all 3 games .. this is very possible ... need to be positive here and see this for what it is !

Couldn't disagree more! The great majority of fans were content with the players brought in last summer and in January.
But what on earth was Lukaku doing having a go at the club/ board/ Koeman and Moshiri? Us fans and the pundits can do this, but Lukaku is an employee of the club; he doesn't have that right. Meltdown to follow if this becomes the norm.
How Lukaku's comments are the fault of the club is bizzare. Great player but arrogant to the point of hubris. He is only 23 for goodness sake, what does he know about how a football club is run, only what his appalling agent tells him.

Absolutely agree with this. He is a highly paid employee who needs to behave the right way. This sort of stuff should be discussed in private. If I spoke to the media in a negative way about the company I work for I would expect to get disciplined. It's unprofessional. The lad needs to learn to keep his gob shut or if he has to say something he needs to be on message. It's getting a bit tiresome every time he leaves the UK we hear the same stuff.

Imagine you are the best performer on a team. Could be any kind of team -- professional football or a pick-up game in the park, or a team in some kind of business: computer programmers, or salesmen, or lawyers. You are talented and hard-working, and are recognized by everyone as the best there. But still your team regularly finish behind your rivals on some other team because pretty much everything at your place, from the facilities to the bosses to your colleagues, is of a lesser quality then they are at this other place.

So you find yourself regularly watching those other lawyers win the big case, and command bigger and bigger fees, or watch that other pick-up team play the next game while you sit on the sidelines and have to wait your turn again. Often you are blamed for these losses because you failed in the big moment. But who else is ever there in the big moment? You're the only one who is capable of stepping up to that level. In order to succeed you'd have to be perfect in every big moment because as soon as you aren't, the team loses!

Oh and also the other place wants you, and will pay you more. How long will loyalty keep you where you are? How long will you believe them when they promise you that if you stay everything will get better?
