wolves in sheeps clothing lid! look what happened to the Lib Dems, they waxed lyrical about how they would do this and that, just to take the popular slant never expecting to actually test thier policies and BANG "off you go Liberals, where are your policies now"Fecking liars all of them, they say what they think you want to hear, never answer a question straight, and ALWAYS they could do it better than the ones in power.Fecking Jokers ALL of them

I honestly cant believe this thread has gone tory v labour! They are exactly the same, whoever is on the left of the house shouts "the sky is blue!" the right side jeer him and shout "no its red" biggest gang of freeloading wasters ever. and you think any of them are different? Grow upI dont particularly care where the money comes from if it improves education. I see loads of school leavers every year joining the RN and apart from the odd exception they can tell you the inside dimensions of a baked bean tin but give them a tin opener and they are fecked. There was an earlier post that nailed it for me, the current system teaches kids to pass exams, it doesnt teach them anything remotely useful for day to day. you take away computers and ask a teenager to do some basic Math - comedy in confusion. it winds me right up that school leavers expect the country to hand them a job that pays well and doesnt involve very much work, dont even get me started on university students ffs.

I think they're all venal bastards and I don't support any of them but I do still believe that Labour would be a bit more progressive than this bunch of feckers.

It's still like being asked to choose between a giant douch and a turd sandwich, as South Park so succinctly put it, mind.

Ok so if i am reading this right about the free school, its for the bad asses. the ones most like to be excluded from other schools. So in essence its one of the old type 'special' schools, get a big thumbs up from me then!

I think that in a utopian world of infinite money and resources this concept would probably be classed as a bad thing, but given in the real world the current climate (and the fact that growing out of recession is impossible) it looks like the best way of saving money whilst negatively affecting the education system as little as possible and only time will tell as to whether the wages are competitive.

Obviously all privately owned school will be subject to OFSTEAD reports etc, I think its more a sign of the times; the government is taking a technocratic approach than specifically choosing to become a minimal state.

Anyway its an Everton school so above all else it will be incumbent on us here to show a keen interest and make sure the school meets OUR standards. Actually when you think about it we can sort of take part in a Aristotelian democracy, as long as we do our part we could be directly improving the city we live in, excellent!
