Everton fit to burst into fourth spot | Everton - Times Online

As the dark nights drew in on Merseyside in late November, the seasonal gloom was not the only reason for David Moyes’s bleak outlook on the world.

Betrayed by form and fortune, the Everton manager glanced at the league table and saw his team, who had been almost eight years in the making, languishing in the lower reaches of the division, their season apparently in tatters and their dreams of qualifying for Europe in disarray....

Oh sweet Lord.

I tell you what, I dont think we can do it, but looking at others fixtures, if we get some good results, which mainly means Chelsea, United and Arse beating everybody and we keep on winning, it could actually be close.

Never thought I would write that, I think I must be straight, wheres my veras.

33/1 at coral, 25/1 with most others, i think i might get the mask and flippers on for a visit.

5/2 to finish above the r/s.

then there's without top4,

if you did an accumulator on those 3 a quid would reap a reward.

still trying to find odds on a signing though.

I'm going to unfortunately maintain 4th is too much. Not that our squad isn't good enough quality for 4th place, but that there's just too little time for us to make up the gap.

The sheer fact we are even talking about the possibility though, as well as the somewhat more likely possibility of finishing in a Europa spot, is testiment to the fine work ALL the staff, playing and non-playing, have done in the past few months.

Furthermore, it goes on to prove that when we aren't completely destroyed by injuries, we are a match for absolutely anyone. When that's the case, we are a class act. We are Everton.

I'm 'avin' a Spandau Ballet moment.

"We don't need this pressure on...
We don't need this pressure on...
We don't need this pressure on...."

Actually, maybe we do need it.

Great to be a blue, isn't it??

A bit like my missus in the throws of passion many a moon ago .." It's coming It's coming Yes yes yes It's coming .....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT ANSWER THE EFFING PHONE..."

well the first part anyways....COYB

I think we should have too aims.

1. 4th spot. If not get that as high as we can

2. Finish above the RS and build for next season from there.

If we did both I'd be in la la land after the injuries we had.

As Davey has said, lets just keep winning and see where it takes us. We could win every game and still not get to 4th. Lots of things will have to work in our favour so lets just focus on what we can do and let the rest sort itself out.

I will be so chuffed if we finish 5th.

We should be looking to take some serious points from the last few games.

I've got a feeling Spurs will get undone with the remianing fixtures.

I said a while back that when the fixtures for this season were announced, the first thing I looked at was the last 8 games...

Because we would either need points from these to avoid a relegation scrap, or points from these to get in Europe. Fortunately its the latter and deservedly so. But you'd be hard pushed to hand pick a better final run of games than the ones we have.....

You'd have to say, given our current form, 9 points out of 9 from our 3 home games is expected.

Wolves may arguably be the toughest game we have left. They're still fighting, on a decent run, and will be very hard to beat I reckon. Villa are showing signs of faltering, and Stoke (not easy at all, no) arguably have little to play for.
