Player Valuation: £8m
There was a time we were considered relegation certs. Players jumping ship, snide accusations, the media and certain enemies salivating at our proposed certain relegation.

Moyes played a 4-1-4-1, Carsley sweeping up in front of a back four, and Cahill shoving up to take advantage of the room Bent made.
Since that point a few sides have used a sweeper-destroyer. Makalele, Fletcher, Mascherano, Essien, Eboue, and a few others not so well known like Lucas, Palacios, Cattermole and other such wastrels.

Fellaini showed for Liege he was a different type of player than had been witnessed before, and Moyes got him in, amazing in the air (Gary Neville saying "I have never seen a player chest and head so many balls in my life") and supreme on the deck, he ran at everyone but Vidic (to begin with) and exposed the flanks and the centre before he put moves on the Serb.
When he is in the groove, he is untouchable in the air because he is a foot taller than almost all other midfielders, and is so capable and so confident on the deck that ''on the deck destroyers'' like Parker and a few others cant get close enough to destroy because the threat of an aerial ball makes them hang back.

It could be luck, it could be fate, but the evolution of the game in terms of a player in a position that is undefendable has been and is the Excalibur in our ranks.

His and Phillip (Carsley) Neville's lead in the opening 25 minutes set the example for the rest and no one backed down. So proud, so happy, and so pleased that we have clearly one of the best midfielders in the league that in his way will be worth the same amount of wins that an in prime Cahill would have.

Superb. Love you Everton!

It was a great result and preformence mate. The team looks really balanced, with round pegs in round holes for the first time certainly in ten years.

Its one game though, lets not carried away 37 to go, you get three points for beating Norwich, you get three points for beating Utd.

Lets hope we keep it up, im really hopefull.

Agreed, it was a post aimed at wrecking the belief that Felli is the best DM we have. He is a universe more and Moyes knows it. He could get 15 league goals this year.

Big Wig was our best player IMO last season. I know everyone was raving about Jonny, but Big Wig made the team tick.

He won the ball on the edge of our box and delivered it at ye edge of the opponents box so many times I lost count.

Fantastic tonight. The whole team was (barring Ossy). Just think what kind of an impact Mirallas will make if Moyes plays him wide right.

We're gonna win the league ;)

Pienaar impressed the hell out of me today, I've seen him running around like a quality loon before but he did it for a good 80 minutes today.. Shadowed by Felli's performance slightly but he was superb and well worth inclusion in the op's line about Felli and Nev imo.

Your Pienaar comment deserves a shout, I cant remember a game where he was allowed to roam so freely across midfield and pick the ball up right side than tonight.

And Ossie was fine, had he buried the ace shot he sent top right we would all be having his triplets.

And wee Tim back too.

We're def gonna win the league ;) well at least until Villa beat us next week, then we'll be the worst in the league again. I love football :)

True mate, but I thought has pretty annomonous for most of the match. A bit nervous too, but i suppose it was utd at home, and first game of the season.

Villa are us under Walker. I cannot remember a time where the attitude of the players has been so positive, making runs, covering others, busting to make tackles, after every throw and dead ball, but all with positivity and a smile. No nastiness, no crying to the ref, no surrounding, just plain sportspersonship.

In a nutshell.

Couldn't agree more mate. Bags of energy with the quality to match.

I just always fear the worst with us.

I think buying those attacking style players, particularly Mirallas, before the season starts, has also done wonders. Players react to initiative and like to see the club is going places and thinking ahead.

At the start of the last few seasons, it was kind of flat because there was always talk about trying to add to the squad but it dragged on. There was a 'wait and see' attitude and I think that reflected in the performances. This season we have just gone out and done it and its got the squad buzzing and we certainly saw it tonight.
