It was rather actually rather easy and since I put reading comprehension as one of your strong suits as well as his, I didn't think it would be very hard for you to understand what I was asking him to provide.

He failed. Miserably.

Conversation over.

Evidence of serious bids - well only the parties involved would have cast iron proof so asking a supporter to come up with some is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. What we have is circumstantial evidence. Firstly there have been so many take overs in the premiership it is hard to believe that there have been no serious bids for Everton, we even had Des Kelly from the Daily Mail making a comment about this the other day so its not just Everton supporters like Davek who are thinking like this. Secondly we have a total reluctance from the board to give any indication as to what price they want for the club and supporters from the Blue Union are told that any question on this subject will end the interview with Bill Kenwright. We also have a credibility issue with the current board and what they are saying. As an example of this we have a comment from Bill Kenwright at an AGM that he has put the club up for sale and has instructed Seymour Pierce (Keith Harris) to sell it. Then a few months later we have a report in the Daily Telegraph that no such instruction had been made to Seymour Pierce. Most serious of all we have a report on the local BBC news stating that there had been 3 bids made for Everton, one from a major US sporting franchise. In that report we also have David Bick going on the record that he knew of at least one investor, with deep pockets, who was interested in buying the club. The club were asked for a comment on that report and refused to make one. No denial about the report just no comment. So I for one think there have been bids for the club and the only conclusion I can draw from this is that the sticking point is the price the Board want.

This is not me, btw. ^^^

I'd be lost in a sea of hippiness. I sat Kenwronging with one of KEIOCs lids last night, you would have been so proud.

I read that earlier mate. It's like a cult - you just have to let your old life go. Have a drink of this Kool Aid....

FINALLY. Someone who gets it. Thank you.

That's exactly what I've asked for. Why you ask?

Because certain parties were 100% certain that valid bids have taken place and have been turned down.

I have always said that if someone can demonstrate that, I will be a believer, no questions asked. The problem has been, and as you have stated in your post above, that none has come up with that demonstration.

Where the problem lies is that there are those on here who have taken much of what you said and have concluded that, with 100% certainty, that Everton Football Club have turned down valid bids for the club, and are using that stick to beat the chairman, board, etc... with.

I'm not going to address this again as we had another thread closed due to these very issues (BBC reported...kinda like Spanish journalists saying "Sources say..." yet the BBC couldn't give any names at all as to who did the bidding...crack journalism that.)

With them, guilty until proven innocent.

I've always maintained it's all cicrumstantial and we have to make our own judgment on it. That lad has merely reiterated what I've been saying. 100% proof on a football forum...that's the highest of bars that no supporter can get over. Debate is all we have. Correct?

If you had ever said your commmentary on the club rejecting bids of the club was circumstantial, we'd have never had the conversation/debate/argument etc.... I'm not thick enough (or Texan enough according to some) to think that there hasn't been the possibility of a bid for the club. But what kind of bid? If Kenwright turned down a bid that most would think realistic (he gets his money back/and or more and the club debts are taken care of, Moyes has money to spend, etc..., then we would all rightly be upset, myself included. I'm not talking about a bid where someone offers one pound for the club and to wipe the debts away and all of the shareholders are wiped out. That's not realistic, as much as we might like that to happen.

I agree with much of what he says (he laid it out very well).

If you're telling me we got into a hubbub all because of semantics (circumstantial vs. iron-clad), then that's really unfortunate, for the both of us.

(EDIT: And yes, you're correct, debate is all we have. Opinions and debate are what makes the forum what it is.)
