everton away credit system

As the away credits doesn't account for the amount of aways to attended (more the purchases) , it's not a true reprasentaive of loyalist fans, fact

It's the best option of those available. Personally i think it's a load of rubbish and totally overblown, this idea that people buy aways and never go, or sell a lot of the tickets they buy. I go to away games and see a load of the same faces time after time. You tend to find that those who do buy aways and sell them also go to an awful lot.

I bought about 12 away tickets last year, sold 3 and went to 9 games. Those 3 tickets were sold to people who otherwise wouldn't have been able to see a match, including a guy whose first Everton game was watching us beat United at Old Trafford. That's hardly a crap game, and i couldn't go due to unforeseen circumstances.

It is fair because it treats every customer equally. Everybody has the same right to buy tickets and sell them if they don't use them.

The system you're proposing would actually be worse. Those people who buy tickets and then genuinely couldn't go, which happens an awful lot, would then be unable to get rid of their purchased tickets, so less Everton fans would get to go to away games.

Well under the conditions of entry to all premiership grounds, tickets are not transferable (other than through official partners - which is a rip off).

I am proposing a system that would allow transfer electronically, regardless of which the ultimate attendee should be the person receiving the credit.

Just because you have somebody's season ticket doesn't mean you're the one who owns the season ticket. I'm giving my season ticket to a friend of a friend for one of the games when i'm on holiday, for example.

You'd just be limiting the resale of tickets to local people who trust each other.

I think it's a pretty fair system now! As people have said you buy them in advance and should something more pressing come up and you can't go you sell it on to someone who can go! (Normally someone who wouldn't normally qualify/be able to go) so even though you're personally loosing out on going someone is benefiting albeit not getting the away credit.

I've had to buy and still have to buy tickets off others for certain games as I've not got enough to qualify for some games ie kopites and Utd etc... And I'm proper grateful that people can sell them on and usually for face value which again is boss.

If like someone said before that if ha don't attend the match you don't get the credit what does that solve? No credit for the fan! Not being able to watch the match! £40 Out of pocket, And not being able to help out another blue! (Snide that).

The problem with away system isnt always the chance to get em.

The problem is some fans (with credits) clearly buy the aways with no desire to go to some of em and sell em to fans, and still get their away credit.

That isnt fair

Apart from the derby you can more or less guarantee getting an away ticket if you've got 6 aways, so there wouldn't be much point in buying more than 6 ( or 8 to guarantee a derby seat ) just to sell on. I had ~ 14 away credits last season and sold 3 or 4 of those on, mainly to southern based fans who don't have a cat in hells chance of getting a ticket via the normal means. Most of the people I know who sell aways on do much the same.

If that makes us bad people then so be it.

If people want to get onto the away ladder then, so long as you have a Season Ticket, it won't take more than a couple of seasons to get onto 6+. It's not perfect, but I'd say it's as good a system as any other, and a whole lot better than most.

Just as an example of how other clubs do this, Chelsea are playing Shrewsbury away in the Cup in 2 weeks, a pretty popular game given its a new ground. Chelsea sold tickets on a free for all basis, no previous loyalty points came into play and nobody had priority over anyone else, so a lot of regular Chelsea awayers got nowhere near getting a ticket. Id say our system is a hell of a lot fairer. You go to games, you will get tickets for the higher profile ones.

Imagine the fume if that happened with us!

It might not be fair, but it is also nigh on impossible to stop

I would say that the number that sell on tickets is exaggerated. I mean they have to go out of their way to buy a ticket (often £40+), then have to go out of their way to find a buyer, etc. If they're not selling for profit, there is no real point. Yeah, they're getting a credit - but as @Woolly Blue has pointed out, once you have 6+ for the season, you're pretty much guaranteed a ticket for every away game if you so wish to go.

It's the closest thing we have though to proving it.

I see the same faces all the time at all the away games. The same people on our coach, we all sit in the same seats, usually next to the same people (our mates!). I really doubt the number buying tickets just to get a credit are a huge number.

The fact that Burnley has gone to STH-only proves that. I'm with the original poster - for those who posted the other night about never being able to get an away ticket - tomorrow is your golden opportunity. Every credit counts - Lille went down to STH+1 remember.

It might not be fair, but it is also nigh on impossible to stop, and technically anyway, people who are selling on the tickets are committing a crime because they are not supposed to be doing this. It is not legal to sell a ticket on, even for a face value. It is touting.

I go to to virtually every away game and have done for the past 10 years. Two seasons back in May, the club put on a special evening for everyone who had been to every single away that season, and gave us all an 'I was there' t-shirt with all the aways listed on the back like concert dates. The number who went to every away game? 156.

Im unsure but Europa Away (if ticket bought) doesnt count as a Prem credit, would it for further Europe aways though, say after the groups?
