Even when there is no colour clash?

That is just barmy.

Any kit for sale has to be worn a certain number of times. I'm pretty sure that's a PL directive hence us wearing black at Swansea, yellow at Newcastle etc.

In this tournament I would imagine both us and Arsenal were happy to showcase the kits we wore.

Playing well and beating Arsenal may have got us a few more supporters, but the colour of our shirt wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference.
Marketing and promotion is all about the impression you can make on the target market. Now, in an area where the club is relatively unknown and certainly is underexposed then surely you'd want to project the key features of the club -- and surely the traditional strip is one of those features.

Of course actually playing well and beating Arsenal would trump any other potential benefit from the exercise, but the fact is the strip we were to play in was, presumably, under our control whereas our winning the tournament wasn't.

Our fans are generally stuck in the last century, we haven't moved with the times, anoraks I think you could call us.we need to drag the club into the 20th century and start showing "Kopite behaviour".
