Everton and VAR

I thought VAR was going to be used differently, to be honest. Didn't expect it to pretty much take the referee out of the decision-making process, so to speak.

Imagine if we had likes Clive Thomas monitoring VAR. He would've volunteered for every one of our matches lol
I've been watching it live in France for over a year know. I've seen a number of penalties given and overturned by VAR and every single time the réf has gone to look at the pitch side monitor. For some reason they are doing it differently over here and it's really not good

Gallagher said it was a penalty on a show that we don't get in Australia, but Peter Walton said that he wouldn't have given it on ESPN FC, a show that we do.

It was the sort of incident that you could put up a case for either decision, but in those 'iffy' ones I think the referee should ask himself ' was he in a real position
to score had there been no contact'. I'd have to go back and have another look at this one, but I don't think he was.
Who cares what pundits and ex refs have to say, 100% everyone of them would say no penalty should have been given if it was against one of the fantastic awesome brilliant 6

The tackle on richarlison is a bigger shout than dele hand ball.

I’m surprise the whole team look subdue when richarlison went down.

The referee didn’t even initiate a VAR review at that point. If the team went berserk and surround the ref, the outcome might be completely different.

But it shouldn't NEED that though. The ref shouldn't need motivating and being outnumbered to give a decision.

I watch games from all around Europe and the standard of refs in those leagues is head and shoulders above the guff The Premier League produce.

I don't want to go back to a system where the ref is forced to make every decision because they have shown how shocking they can be. But somehow the system of replay they've designed is even more incompetent than the old system of doing nothing to help the bad referees. The first thing that needs to change is transparency. We should know why decisions are being made how they are. I can't explain that Alli call and that's the biggest problem imo.

Sad thing is, if he gets the penalty decision right, Gomes' injury doesn't happen.
